@SecDuffy @POTUS To stay at your job and work without pay shows dedication and patriotism along with confidence that because of the system our forefathers put in place things will work out in time.

.@POTUS wanting to reward our air traffic controllers who haven’t missed a day of work is absolutely brilliant. Let’s bring these patriots to the White House to show our gratitude!🇺🇸

I agree @POTUS. Air traffic controllers NEED to show up for work! To those who have worked throughout the shutdown — thank you for your patriotism and commitment to keeping our skies safe. I will work with Congress to reward your commitment.

@karenellen45 @SecDuffy @POTUS It isn’t about maximizing the bonus… So if this is true, if you worked all the hours then you get it; if not, you still will get paid and your vacation hours was not deducted. Everyone gets something is the point. Don’t ruin it for the people who worked ALL the hours.

@pjb444 @USDOTRapid @SecDuffy Philip is obviously ignorant, probably thinks ATC makes 180k to start and 400k on the high end like Duffy incorrectly stated recently. Really they make 50-60k to start and most only ever make around 130-140k.

@USDOTRapid @SecDuffy The shutdown is not straining controllers. They are among the highest paid federal employees, and routinely only work about 4 hours of an 8 hour shift.

Yeah, it's a REPUBLICAN shutdown. Anyway, there are 23,000 people in your district relying on the ACA tax credits & 250,000 on Medicaid. My advice? Come back to work & get serious about negotiating with Democrats to reopen government & save health care for your constituents.
Rep. Dan Newhouse@RepNewhouse

Senator @PattyMurray should take her own advice, stop blocking the House’s clean CR, and vote to end the shutdown. Enough is enough.

@RonWyden why is everyone crumbling over ATC. They literally get to retire at 50 and get their highest salary for the rest of their lives. Many also make close to $200k. Whatever, but if you want them paid how about privatizing ATC so they arent caught up in your scuffle

@MariaPine10 @RonWyden This is terribly incorrect. They can retire at 50 but thats with a much lower pension. They are mandatory retire at 56, you don't want someone old in this job. They do not get highest salary... it's around 40-45% of highest 3 adveraged out. Most make around 130k.

@SecDuffy Best way to attract good workers according to the federal gov: 1. Stagnated pay 2. Delay paychecks for undefined amount of time. 3. Lie about workers salaries, telling the public they make over 2x what they really do. 4. Threaten negitive action if they are sick.

You may see delays during the shutdown and it’s because we are not willing to take any risks if we don’t have the staff to fly your flight safely.

@Taylor259251572 @SecDuffy Yea... this is not quite true. You think a young controller straight out of college or military making 50-60k has money saved up? No they don't, and thats not even the point. They should never miss a paycheck, no one should when they do the work, your argument is asinine.

I’m encouraging air traffic controllers to show up for work during this shutdown. But when I talked to them, they were stressed out and thinking: how do I put food on the table and how do I pay my mortgage if my paycheck doesn't come through?

@EricRenfro @SecDuffy Stupid idea, ATC has been understaffed for decades because of that... and your fix it to fire more? Plus they are not striking at all... the news is just reporting on things that have been an issue for years.

@SecDuffy @USDOT You fucking straight up lied about what we make, more than doubling the reality. You say you want the best and brightest but you treat the workforce like you want to hire the exact opposite. Staffing sucks.. maybe make it a good place to work again. This career used to be good.

President Trump’s big beautiful bill has resulted in a health care crisis that is now upon us. Next year, everyone is either at risk of losing their health care or paying more. So, we did a little math to estimate what that might look like for a couple in Lansing. Their health care costs will go up by $1,100 a month, or a whopping $13,200 per year.

The facts: The health care tax credit helps more than 20 million Americans afford health care. That includes millions of small business owners and farmers. Those are the Americans who will see their premiums double unless Congressional Republicans act.

🚨 If Republicans kill ACA subsidies, a couple making $85K will pay $25,000 a year for healthcare. That’s 30% of their income—just to stay alive. This isn’t “fiscal conservatism.” It’s economic violence against the middle class.

The health care tax credit is a big deal. Without it: 4 million people lose their health insurance Premiums double for more than 20 million Americans One example: An older couple making $85K could see their premiums skyrocket to $25K per year—almost 30% of their income.

Everyone needs to see this: If Republicans succeed in letting ACA subsidies expire a couple making 85k/year will see their health care premiums skyrocket to $25,000. Almost 30% of their income!! This will devastate middle-class Americans.

@RubenGallego Wait... if thats true then why the heck would anyone want ACA as Healthcare insurance? You're telling me this whole time we have been subsidizing a large portion of that with federal tax money? That's SUPER overpriced... ACA needs to go!
