Plot twist is: The fast kids are fast in football and track… take little Jimmy who isn’t fast.. he runs track all offseason.. is he suddenly better and faster as a football player? No.. so why is that? 🤔

Speed much be defined where it’s used. Context leads content… football speed is much different than track.. it’s why Usain Bolt, fastest man alive, when he went and played soccer, was out of control and slow. Speed has to be built in the end where and how it’s going to be used

Most HS track programs are just football coaches running athletes and more control. If they really thought track = better football, go hire a track coach who understands cycle, front:back mechanics, foot strike, GCT, posture, hip/posterior activation, CNS, ankle/foot complex, etc

I’m a BIG fan of T&F obviously but you nailed it. The “all football players should run track” thing assumes the team has coaches who have a clue. I watched in absolute horror last year as our track team was running stadiums and doing HIIT circuits two days out of a meet while I was on the other field with our 🏈 program running a high performance speed and power program. I shared that note with my friend @HFJumps and he said “no offense but when the strength coach is running a better track program than the track coach…that’s a bad thing”

Agreed. These also assume the HS track program is any good. I was a sprinter/thrower in high school. We never ran shorter than 200m in practice. It helped, but if your main sport (Football) requires you to dominate in the 5-20 yard range, you should probably spend more time improving performance in that range.
Ross Garner@CoachRGarner

Just because a football player has a good 40y doesn’t mean they’re going to have a good 100m Just because they run track doesn’t mean they’ll get a faster 40 either

Is this new “inches off the ground” and “angles of knees and shins” BS gonna be a thing for real? Another stupid non translatable thing we have to hear fans bring up when normal people want to talk about prospects?

Parents.. QUIT trying to get your 11/12/13/14 year olds recruited.. QUIT posting on Twitter as if you are your son. Let your kids be kids. That time will come. They are still sleeping with a nightlight on.. let them play football, develop and have fun. QUIT trying to chase offers

@DontonioKeshon It’s sad man tbh.. end of the day it all affects kids. You see who cares and who cares about their ego.. they think they are hiding it. Guys say this stuff about others, while looking in the mirror at the exact thing they are accusing

@CoachRC23 Real talk! That’s the craziest thing. The guys who refer to dudes as street agents are usually the most crooked of the bunch. It’s deflection at its finest.

Exactly man I tweeted this a few weeks ago the ONLY Sports People insist have Street Agents are 🏈🏀 There is one common denominator with those 2. BUT never is the 🏐 ⚾️ 🥎 🏒 🥍 Sports who charge families 4X More and kids will literally sign on Signing Day With their Travel Jersey, select Jersey more bold in front of high school Jersey and it’s accepted as the Norm. But those sports NEVER get the Title of “street agent” But any Black Male helping Athletes of any color is considered a “Street Agent” that’s WHY I’m so vocal of being a Business Owner of over a Decade Now maybe they’ll shift the title to “Business Agent” or keep it street agent because many I know are keeping A TON of kids out of the “Streets” glad to know I’m not the only one that’s questioned this especially lately
Dontonio Jordan@DontonioKeshon

Every black man you see working with HS and college kids is not a “street agent”, I don’t even know what tf it means, but I’ve never seen a “street agent” that wasn’t Black..

A lot of talk about drills the last few days.. many agree w/ crazy drills bc they are in their box & scares them not having control. But truth is the ATH is the one we are learning from bc each is a 1 of 1.. each 👁️ /🧠/moves differently. Coaching = guiding, not creating robots

@LandonTengwall At some point we will get people to grasp, skill is as individual as that players fingerprint, and each is a 1 of 1 for how they see, think and move… until then we will keep seeing dumb 💩 man

@CoachRC23 @adaptingskill Bingo! Just because a player is good or because good players train with a trainer does not automatically make a drill/restraint good! Also, just about any time there is ever more than 1 band involved in anything, it’s bad 😂

Let’s talk about evaluation… or lack there of.. of course no one ever truly knows who will go on to be a future HOF guy.. so much more must take place.. but u can see breadcrumbs of what some can be.. I had CFB coaches tell me back then,, they didn’t see a QB difference maker🥴
