JD Vance: "I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't. We never made that promise, we never indicated that was gonna be the case."

@sentdefender Guess its cool for Spain to start charging tolls for the US to use the Strait of Gibraltar too then? Guy figured he can't beat them so he will join them? Maybe he can cut a deal with the Somali pirates too

During an interview this morning ABC News, President Donald J. Trump appeared to endorse a condition by Iran in last night’s ceasefire that allows them to charge tolls on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that the fees may by a “joint venture” between Iran and the United States. “We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it - also securing it from lots of other people. It’s a beautiful thing.”

The plan going forward for #Trump and the #IranWar#ceasefire will be delusion. Iran will reopen the Strait to anyone willing to pay fees. Israel and Iran will continue to fight at lower intensity. Trump will say he has won and call the media fake for asking for any details

@JS_9495 @owenjonesjourno He is both. He attacked Iran during negotiations because he thought he could kill his way to what he wanted. When they didn't capitulate he talked big and then blinked and called it a victory. Nobody on the left or right should celebrate that, this is simply idiotic.

@owenjonesjourno Now watch the left switch from calling Trump a genocidal maniac to weak and laugh. These people are the enemy of our civilisation. There are no more moderates on the left that are loud. Nihilistic extremists.

Yeah why doesn’t Zelenskyy show solidarity with the country that has been dropping a couple hundred drones on his head these past four years? All credibility lost!

It's astonishing that you, a world leader who many respected for standing up to an illegal attack on your country, now support an illegal attack on another country. It completely kills your credibility. Right now. Iran is Ukraine. You may not like to hear that but that is a fact

@mehdirhasan Utterly insane statement to make. The Iranian regime has broken UN security council measures on Uranium enrichment, sponsored assassinations and terrorist attacks abroad, has broken maritime law, Human rights laws etc. I assume you are comparing them for engagement only?

Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.

@sentdefender It's just convenience for both sides, Trump wants an out and the Iranians want to say the US capitulated. There is no way this 10 point plan is a "basis for negotiation" its polar opposite to what the US would agree to, but gives room for a Trump TACO and he took it.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council claims that the U.S. agreed to a 10-point plan, including but not limited to the cessation of all sanctions since the Bush era and the Iranian control of the Strait of Hormuz. Given credible reporting that such points will be discussed during negotiations following the ceasefire, it’s yet unlikely that the U.S. agreed to these conditions preemptively.

Some people in Puerto Rico are apparently upset because I identified as Puerto Rican, despite my having lived here for almost ten years and raised two of my children here. However, had I identified as a Puerto Rican woman, they would have had no problem with my gender identity.

If Bitcoin ends 2026 at $10,000, it will still be the best-performing asset over ten years. I'm sure @Saylor will rely on that to keep pumping Bitcoin and issuing more shares of $MSTR to buy it. But a 92% decline will make it the worst-performing investment for most HODLers.
