In brief, here's what happened: 1. Robert Heinlein wrote STARSHIP TROOPERS to showcase martial virtues like honor, self-sacrifice and heroism. 2. Paul Verhoeven, a member of the Arts 'n Crafts wing of the European Left, was displeased by this and wanted to piss all over Heinlein's message. 3. Paul is a gifted filmmaker but an inept propagandist. He dropped the ball so badly in Troopers that he wound up celebrating what he set out to mock. 4. The Bugs are bad. The Federation is good. Rico and his friends are good. Even dressing Carl up like an SS officer didn’t make HIM less good. 5. It’s one of the most remarkable backfires in propaganda history and I do a happy dance every time I think of the little Dutch boy grinding his teeth over people loving what he wanted them to hate.

@deltaIV9250 SpaceX is fault-tolerant. Routinely breaking things on purpose means when you break something by accident it's vastly easier to recover from.

This is like the umpteenth time SpaceX has ended up in an advantageous by accident. Never underestimate SpaceX’s ability to be insanely lucky

Apparently I lost thirty followers overnight with that post about how artists are fueling the use of AI with shitty service and shittier attitudes. Reminds me of the story about how I got my current streaming avatar. I used to use a Black Templar avatar that was a gift from a friend. I had to stop because Games Workshop could come down on me for it's use, and there are people out there who would absolutely take advantage of that against me. My second avatar was originally something I prompted up in an emergency to fill the gap. I was immediately hunting for an artist to make an actual avatar for my streaming, and even as I used it, I considered the AI one an embarrassment. I communicated with five artists. One blocked me instantly, with just "fuck off chud" in my DMs. Three of them didn't block me, but said, "I won't take your commission," for the same political reasons. The last one is the one that sticks in my memory the most. They WANTED to take my commission. They didn't out of fearing the reaction of other artists if they learned they'd done a commission for me. For awhile I just didn't bother. The eyesore that was the replacement avatar eventually got to me and I asked a friend if she knew any artists, and she guided me to the artist who turned my AI slop replacement avatar into the one I currently use. Hilariously, other artists have attacked my CURRENT avatar, real art drawn by human hand, as being AI generated. Something the artist has endless laughs about. He's currently working on new streaming avatar on me. Between price, quality, and ethic, he's earned my eternal status as a customer. I'll link his Vgen in the replies. So yeah, I speak from experience when I say artists have an attitude problem that they need to fix. You're so busy trying to die on pointless hills that you're denying yourself potential customers.

Am I a foid, as you say? I'll let you decide. That said I don't date, so it's not explicitly for me. Instead I want men to be fit, be healthy, and be competent *because it increases the chances of men who want to find loving relationships to do so*. By the same token I would argue that women be fit, be healthy, and be joyful. Women adore competency, men adore joyfulness. In both instances these are choices and paths a person can choose and work towards and so is actionable advice to improve their chances of finding happiness. If you feel this is unfair or poor advice or mistreats men, I am open to hearing why you think so. If your argument is convicing to me I'll delete the post.

SpaceX has shown time and time again that they can quickly adapt to solve new challenges and meet the needs of a customer. They adapted the fairing for Cygnus, added methane for Nova C, quickly designed and built a new dispenser for OneWeb, modified the Cargo Dragon trunk to reboost ISS. So if there's someone that can quickly accommodate Mk1 is SpaceX

All personnel are accounted for and safe. It’s too early to know the root cause but we’re already working to find it. Very rough day, but we’ll rebuild whatever needs rebuilding and get back to flying. It’s worth it.

The competition for SpaceX just lost a lot of orders for satellites to orbit. Blue Origin's rocket (owned by Jeff Bezos) just exploded on the pad. The SpaceX near monopoly on putting satellites in orbit will extend a few more years.
