The 18-22 claim is illogical if you read what early Jewish books and scholars have to say and if u consider the ages of consent and average ages of marriage of Christian countries just 100 years ago It’s a modern reconstruction based on selective interpretations that heavily ignore medieval Jewish scholarly commentary in the Talmud, Mishna and other early Jewish books. They had a distinction between betrothal and consummation for a reason because marriage arrangements could happen earlier, and consummation would occur once the girl reached physical maturity source: mishnah(200 CE). If you look at foundational Jewish sources like the Mishnah (compiled around 200 CE) and the Talmud, they consistently treat puberty (around 12) as the point of legal maturity for marriage. Even a 1st-century Jewish historian like Flavius Josephus explicitly states: “The law permits marriage for women at the age of twelve…” And this wasn’t unique to Jewish thought. Even in later Christian theology, figures like Thomas Aquinas discussed in his book (summa theologica ) that marriage is valid once a girl reached puberty, even if she was under 12, depending on physical maturity. So the idea that women only married at 18-22 in that era is misleading.

@aquavitae96 @Ernest1588761 You're further proving my theory that theists are just retarded.... Being a believer in a faith and then being successful doesn't prove that the faith is legitimate.. People are free to believe in what they want, its just that science doesn't prove that god exists or not.

@john_9574 @leemajorss @mntt_76 Moses did bad. Moses added to God's demand to take out his anger. That is bad. Prophets can sin. I don't know why I have to explain this like you're a child, but Muslims can't comprehend this.

@Deji21_04 @jfkxixio999 @mntt_76 Mary was between 18-22. We get this from Michael Satlow and Amram Trooper. They found out the average age of marriage was about 18-22. We don't have any historically reliable sources that say anything else. Canon law says 12. It is a broken law that is wrong. I dont defend it.

(2/2) He’s not the first prophet to have multiple wives or have divine revelations or guidance about his personal life. As for the statement attributed to Aisha(ra), it is being misrepresented. The narration reflects a personal, emotional remark within a marital context. Aisha is not a critic of the Prophet ﷺ but literally one of his strongest defenders and among the greatest transmitters of hadith. If she genuinely believed the Prophet was fabricating revelation, it would make no sense that she: -transmitted and taught hundreds of hadith defending him and his prophethood -praised his character consistently -remained one of the strongest authorities in Islam after his death when she could have called him out and become an apostate -would affirm miracles and extraordinary events he performed/took part in by the will of God and never deny them You can’t quote her as a “witness against him” while ignoring that she is actually one of his biggest supporters and defenders of this religion. It’s ridiculous how you cherry pick to suit your agenda, she remains one of the strongest defenders of the Prophet’s integrity and is a primary source of Islamic knowledge. You can’t selectively quote her joking tone and ignore her overall testimony about his character, about the miracles he performed or took part in or her strong belief of his prophethood Regarding Qur’an 33:51, the verse is part of a broader passage regulating the Prophet’s marital arrangements and community obligations. Importantly, the Qur’an also includes verses that address the Prophet directly, correct him in certain situations, and place obligations upon him. Something that would be inconsistent with the idea of a fabricated scripture designed for personal gain. when you read the surrounding passage (33:28-52), you’ll see: -His wives were given the option to leave him -He was given a specific restriction on further marriage… People who fabricate authority don’t include public criticism of themselves inside their own scripture. If someone was “making up revelation,” the Qur’an is the worst possible way to do it. It includes verses that: -correct and rebuke him (e.g. Surah 80:1-10 where he is criticised/corrected) Lastly , your claim ignores how the Qur’an was preserved and transmitted. It was memorised and publicly recited by large numbers of companions during the Prophet’s lifetime and immediately after and we still do so till date as seen by the hundreds of millions who have memorised the Qur’an from the beginning to the end. It was not a private text controlled by one individual but a publicly transmitted revelation in a community that included believers and hostile opponents actively seeking contradictions and faults . If he was tailoring revelation for personal desires, it would have been obvious and challenged in real time especially in a hostile environment where his enemies were actively looking for ways to discredit him. Your entire argument is just cherry-picking and projecting modern assumptions without context . U took a single remark, strip the tone and context, and you ignore the rest of the texts that she reported, and then jump to a conclusion that doesn’t fit the broader evidence. May Gods peace and blessings be upon Muhammad ibn Abdullah. The best of mankind. And may God guide or destroy you @jfkxixio999

@iamAtheistGirl And the serpent was also honest, Yahweh lied his ass off. And when talking to other Elohim admitted he kicked them out so they wouldn't eat from the Tree of Life and become immortal, and truly gods like them. Eating from the Tree of Knowledge already made them like the Elohim.

@realmikolson Jesus does not just say that though. He continuously says to eat His flesh and drink His blood. He doubles down when people question Him and they leave because it is not metaphor. It is the truth. I will not answer your joke of a question. To do so is waste of intellect.

Question for my Roman Catholic friends: If Jesus is speaking literally in this passage below, as Roman Catholics claim, do you not eat food throughout the week because you’ve eaten the Eucharist? Is your grocery bill zero dollars in total? “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” - John 6:35

Bible reading in a Catholic Church, as everyone knows, never happens and is never allowed. EVER. If you see these little wooden mounts in a Catholic Church, now you know what they are for. They are mostly empty because, for the most part, we Catholics have learned our lesson.
Kenny Burchard@KennyBurchard

@Joeinblack It's a special mounting stand for the mactator biblicus machine (in English, it means "Bible Swatter"). If you're caught reading the Bible in a Catholic Church, where the Bible, as everyone knows, is never read, this machine knocks it out of your hand with a spinning thurible.

@BeeeTeeeGeee @5Solas2 I also think it is important to note that the Jews had Scripture translated. The translation Jesus used would have included the Deuterocanon.

@landon_thrash @MistahRH98 @churchtalkative Because we are imperfect. I am not rejecting the Scripture, I am rejecting a hyper-literal interpretation of Scripture. We see a time where God allowed divorce, because it was necessary. Importantly, (not assuming you did anything malicious) did you read my second comment.

@EclipseCaptain @MistahRH98 @churchtalkative But Paul tells us “not to think beyond what is written?” (1 Corinthians 4:6). If God’s word perfectly equips the Christian (2 Timothy 3:16-17), what need be there for anything else?

@MistahRH98 @landon_thrash @churchtalkative Because abuse breaks the covenant of marriage, they are no longer bound together. Thus, abuse is divorce If abuse happens before a marriage, the Catholic Church gives an annulment i.e. the marriage never happened U don't need a divorce to leave a spouse. U can hop in a car and go

@MistahRH98 @landon_thrash @churchtalkative Christianity has something called "virtue ethics." Simply put, we can take things we learn from naturalism and use it with Scripture to better understand God. God does not like divorce. Abuse breaks the covenant of marriage. This is the same thing as divorce. (1/2)

@dukeforau @ev1555373734108 @churchtalkative It prohibits inherently bad things. You used the Old Testament. We are only bound by the moral laws. Do a little research on the difference. Abortion is evil. I don't need religion to prove it. It is the unjust killing of a human being. Also, praying outside of them is not terror

@ev1555373734108 @churchtalkative You just said that religion does not prohibit anything, yet the bible clearly states things you cannot do. And yet US Conservative Christians tries to make several things they claim god said into laws and also terrorize abortion clinics. You should have a talk to them, not me.

@_OKJ__ Yeah. The relationships do not last. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10… This link shows why. What God says is bad is findable in the world. While we don't fully understand the link, we know of it. Premarital sex is a sin. It is a moral evil. It increases divorce, if they even get there.

Sin does not exist in the real world and has nothing to do with morals. So this is a problem for Chri.stians not the rest of the world with adequate moral sensibilities. Because I’m sure you cannot demonstrate what’s wrong with two consenting adults having sex other than “my Bible says nuh uh”.

@owenweddle @MikeWingerii And the liberal Enlightenment gave us schools where children are extremely abused in. Yeah, anything sounds bad like this. Children are much more likely to get abused in a school than anywhere else, including a church. Pedos go where children are. Bad people go where they do bad.
