@DeborahMeaden The best possible outcome. No matter your thoughts on Iran, you want the Epstein regime of child rapists and killers to win?

Iran is losing so bad they shot 2 F35s, depleted US defenses in 2 weeks, have dozens of nations trying to negotiate with them on the side, are dictating who does or doesn’t pass the strait of Hormuz, are holding the global oil trade hostage, and the US eased sanctions on them.

Only way UK petrol could be cheaper would be if government tax didn’t account for 55% of every pound you spend on it! Your belief that even more government would make it cheaper is really rather quaint.
lwormald@lwormald

@afneil You’re being funny. US consumers are paying more for petroldespite massive US production. Only way UK oil could be cheap would be if fully nationalised!

@afneil It's immoral when the govt takes more in tax than the people producing the goods. It's the same with beer. We do all the hard work and the state takes more than we do. IMMORAL. Should be illegal.

@barny1316 @afneil You are totally correct. You are not an economist, you "haven’t done the maths" as you so eloquently put it, and you admit that your "figures need to be adjusted". 10 out of 10. Well done.

@afneil What would happen if we cancelled all taxes apart from 2? Income tax first £25k tax free after that 50% tax and corporation tax - paid at 50% on profits over £1million? I’m not an economist and have not done the maths and I’m sure the figures need to be adjusted- can it work?

@afneil You and your ilk Brillo have been caught out in your opposition to green energy by this illegal war. Dependence on domestic fossil fuels whose price is set by international events has even affected the US, a net exporter.

@EndHall @afneil Labour cancelled Tory plans for an 8p per litre increase in fuel duty. It then froze it to at least September. We know the big 4 supermarkets overcharged consumers £900 million in 1 year alone after Russia invaded Ukraine. Wise up.
