There is cross-party agreement that police funding in Bedfordshire has been drained far too much. People in Bedfordshire need certainty that their police service will receive proper funding. Today I pressed the Government to commit to a fair funding formula.

I am delighted to be standing as the @reformparty_uk candidate in the forthcoming by election in Wellingborough. Like so many, the good people of Wellingborough have been let down by successive govts. They voted for a new social contract with Brexit but got failed progressive socialism instead. The policies of Reform put first the country and the working and middle classes. I will do my very best to be elected and deliver for my constituents and the country.

@SuperScienceGrl @FGWay1 Building regs allows changing of sockets and installing spurs. I'd take the plate off, test with a mains testing screwdriver then flip the socket circuit off at the breaker & see if it is still live. You're not allowed (by building regs) to install a socket on a different circuit

Am I right in guessing that it's fairly easy for an electrician to replace a blanking plate (like this) with a socket? (I haven't looked at the wiring behind it yet, but generally speaking?) I assume it's on a circuit with other sockets, or a lighting circuit

@FGWay1 Are we allowed? 😅 I'm always a bit scared of electricity, so many things you need a registered electrician! Maybe I'll see what I can do with my outside lights, which are on the blink (literally - they blink constantly) - if I can't fix those I'll get someone to do both!

@SuperScienceGrl Yup to make it easy use something like this. m.youtube.com/watch?v=06fjVK…. Obviously you need to switch off the citcuit. Put tape over the switch at the circuit so nobody switches on and also but a screwdriver which detects current.

Politics can be a pretty frustrating sport. Even if you dedicate every working hour to turning around the lives of those who need your help, you will still get those people who are seeking to make a name for themselves or indeed have become irrelevant, (Carol Vorderman). I made a very clear promise on ending veterans sleeping rough because of a lack of provision, this year. I met that promise. Of course people will try and twist, everything I say and do. I know there are huge challenges in housing across the United Kingdom. But there is a big difference between not having your own home, and sleeping out in the cold every night. I’m in it for those who need me who are desperate, who have nowhere else to turn. Not those who jump up and down, make a lot of noise, but don’t end up changing a single life because they’re only in it for themselves. Like this guy, Chris.
