@EmInYorkshire @MartinSLewis Yeah 35 hours, but i know of people who dont even meet half of those hours and fake it unfortunately. Im out here making myself ill for less than 40p p/h, while saving the govt 10k/mo on social care package. Where is the justice in that

@GeeKidd101 @MartinSLewis They'd have to be caring 35 hours a week so they're popping round a bit more than that, but the whole thing needs reform. Unfortunately I'm not sure I trust what they'd do.

CONFIRMED: Good news. The Carers Allowance earnings threshold will be increased from £151 to at least £181 in the #Budget tomorrow, starting April 2025. So carers can earn more and still receive the allowance. Still waiting to hear... - Will the allowance itself increase - Crucially will they replace the cliff-edge with a taper (ie you don't lose all the money for just being 1p over)

@AlanBauthor @MartinSLewis I'm on the clock so to speak 24/7. My son has CP, nonverbal, tubefed etc. I sleep 3hrs a night, & maybe an hour in the day if i can. Those of us with working partners (on fairly low wage considering it supports 3 people) cant even get additional benefits like UC. Its not right

@Paralympics this is the first VI event ive seen, so when an athlete with a guide wins a medal, do the guides also win a medal? If not, as a disabled person, if i relied on a guide Id want them to get a medal of some sort too... they worked just as hard as the athlete
