We have some sad news this evening. RPD Billy from Police Scotland has passed peacefully away aged nearly 12. He was an outstanding search dog for 9 years before retiring last year - his handler and Mum shares his story: “Billy lived everyday to the fullest and went every where at maximum speed. He started life off as a Gun Dog but soon decided a Policing life was much more fun. Billy worked as a Drugs Detection Dog for over 9 years. He scanned people at major concerts/festivals including TRNSMT, Wickerman, Coloursfest, Stereofunk, Terminal V Festival, Green Day to name a few. He enjoyed every minute of his career but after some medical issues he retired last June and settled right in to retirement life. Billy made us laugh every day and he could have a book of his own with his antics. Our lives will be duller without him but we take comfort knowing that him and his big pal the late PD Bodie are reunited and will be causing chaos once again over rainbow bridge. Run free my special boys 💙” Sleep well Billy - it was an honour to have you as a member of our NFRSA family - thank you for everything. Good news! 💩 It may not seem a big deal but to the initiated, you get it. Also a wardrobe change after a couple hours nekkid to let things breathe. We wash surgical suits daily.

We’ve had Retired K9 Evo one week today and although I’ve known & loved him for 8 years now.. my husband is ABSOLUTELY smitten with him. Dave and Haven are enjoying him too. My random dreams over the years of him being part of our family most definitely were a sign.

I met K9 Evo 8 yrs ago & was fortunate enough 2 witness his entire career, thru his LivePD days & countless ride alongs. We formed a bond. I had dreams over the yrs that he would be ours & today I’m thrilled to tell you those dreams came true! Evo’s officially retired.. with US!
