@A1an_M @DrHoenderkamp It literally says right there that you get NI credits for being unemployed! You get them for being sick, on parental leave, or being a carer. You don’t have to work and pay NI, and even if you do you don’t have to pay anywhere near the amount needed to actually cover the cost.

I'm tired of hearing ' you don't pay in to' the state pension because if that's true, why do they assess your NI contributing years and then decide how much you get depending on contributions?
(PS, I know it isn't a pot - but you do pay in to get it)

Hodges points out, Starmer is doing all he can to avoid complying with the Humble Address which demands he publish all Mandelson related communications. He’s insulting parliament and the public but he won’t get away with it. It’s a scandal too far and this Labour PM is finished.

Litter is such an easy win for politicians. Keeping our streets clean reduces crime, it also reduces fear & perception of crime, The less litter you see the less is dropped. You have a whole army of litter pickers in our schools and once trained they will never drop litter 1/2

@CatoThistlewood @KirstieMAllsopp It just taught us to make sure we didn’t drop litter on certain weeks because it was our class that had to pick it up

@KathrinaPerry @KirstieMAllsopp Yes. That was also a thing in some schools. Also ended because it is seen as demeaning for the students, even those who'll do well to get a job picking litter.
Nobody thinks of how this makes the school litter pickers feel or how the students treat them with such contempt.

@KirstieMAllsopp Schools rarely use litter picking as punishment for anything, even littering.
It is seen as demeaning and shameful. Bad for their ego.
The schools will have adults picking litter up in the playground, though...

More dodgy and unreferenced stats. Seeing as i'm from Cheshire East, the idea that 67% of its school pupils speak English as an additional language seemed dubious in the extreme.
Turns out its total rot. The government says that the number is actually a shade over 10%.
