NEW: U.S. President Donald Trump is seeking to lower the profile of his mass deportation effort, and has directed his top advisers to adopt a new approach on one of his central campaign promises, WSJ reported on Thursday night. In conversations with top advisers and his wife Melania, Trump has become convinced that some of his administration’s deportation policies have gone too far, and voters don’t like the term “mass deportation.” The president has told them he wants to see more attention on arresting “bad guys” and less chaos in American cities. At this time, there is no official word from the Trump administration on the Wall Street Journal report.

The Pentagon has asked the White House to approve a more than $200 billion request to Congress to fund the ongoing Iran War, according to a senior administration official, in an enormous new ask that is almost certain to run into serious resistance from Democrats and Republicans in Congress. The amount being requested would far surpass the costs of the Trump Administration’s massive airstrike campaign against Iran to date and instead seek to urgently increase production of critical weaponry expended by the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Navy in strikes against and defending from attacks by Iran, according to three other people familiar with the matter who spoke to the Washington Post.

The Trump Administration is considering deploying thousands of additional combat troops to the Middle East as the military prepares options for the next phase of the ongoing Iran War. Let us put this in perspective. Roughly 800 American missiles have been used in just three days of fighting in the Middle East. More than Ukraine has fired during their entire war. American citizens are still stranded. Still waiting. Still hoping their government considers their lives worth the urgency. The people we swore to serve need our help.
