@Romans724120566 @Alma56_47 @joshnaa2gez In what ways is “the God of this universe” meaningfully different from Christ? We believe, as Stephen, that Christ is at the right hand of His Father. But if you buy into the Trinity, then technically God was a man because Christ was a man. Was God ever “just a man?” No.

You are either outright lying or don’t know your own religion. It is a foundation piece of Mormon theology that directly contradicts all of Christian thought. Eternal progression…was the current God of this universe ever a man according to your religion? The answer is yes. check the King Folletts Discourse or or the Infinite Regression of Gods by Brigham Young should you need a refresher. You can also try to convince the congregation of your plurality of gods doctrine. See how that flies.

First of all, I do not believe in sola scriptura. You do. So I don’t need to justify my theological beliefs strictly with the Bible. But you must if you’re going to claim sola scriptura. I’ll still show some evidence for those beliefs through the Bible, however. “Where is God’s wife?” Nowhere in the Bible explicitly. However, Genesis 1:27 says, “God created man in his own image… male and female created he them.” Notice that both male and female are said to bear God’s image. Biblically, the divine feminine is present, even if abstract. “Where’s becoming a god?” John 10:34: “Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” Romans 8: 16-17: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.” 1 John 3:2: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God… when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” “Where’s polytheism?” Exodus 20:3: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Notice it doesn’t deny the existence of other gods.) Deuteronomy 32: 8-9: “When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God. But Yahweh’s portion is his people, Jacob his allotted inheritance.” Psalms 82:1: “God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.” Exodus 15:11: ““Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods?” “Where’s Christ being Satan’s brother?” Job 1:6: “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.” Job 38: 4-7: “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth… when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?” “Where’s 3 levels of heaven?” 2 Corinthians 12:2: “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.” 1 Corinthians 15: 40-41: “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.”

@joshnaa2gez Have you ever heard of St Ignatius of Antioch? Now show me where your own theology is in the Bible. Where's God's wife? Where's becoming a God? Where's polytheism? Where's Christ being Satan's brother? Where's 3 levels of heaven?

@LoganMPierce1 @PopePiusIXStan Paul who once hated Christians and wanted to kill them has a miraculous conversion after a public event leading him blind, and is healed by a former enemy who also had a vision. Joseph says he can find treasure with magic stones and didn't. Which is actually credible? lol

We inherit a nature from our parents. A nature is what we are, and we know humans are made from human procreation, with the exception of Adam/Eve. Jesus has one biological parent, Mary, so of course she is solely responsible for His human nature. Not a very "thoughtful" post.

Hubris always goes before the fall. This Mormon thinks that because God will not forgive blasphemy against the Holy Ghost that means Blood Atonement is a Christian belief. But let's unpack how his gotcha actually damns Mormonism. Jesus said in Luke 12:10 (NIV) “And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.” 'Will' is the important word. It means it's a decision of God. Which means when I say God's forgiveness against blasphemy against the Holy Ghost 'It's up to God' I am 100% correct. He believes God cannot forgive that sin, just how Blood Atonement puts some sins beyond Jesus' sacrifice to present us sinless before God. This puts a limit on God, as if such forgiveness is impossible for him. This is consistent with Mormon cosmology where their god the father is not the creator and is subject to the laws of the universe. His gotcha is a gotcha against Mormonism. Mormons are not Christians.
James Power@Rultpwr

@DavoustBaldPate @Sip_Dhit i did. you asked what it is and i said what it is. you then asked why. I said i could explain if you answer if blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is pardonable. im not asking why its notpardonable, Im just seeing if you believe Jesus you cant answer and its kind of funny

@TNTJohn1717 @RandomLDS Paradise does not equal heaven. When the Resurrected Christ appeared to Mary, He had not yet ascended to His Father. His Father was not in Paradise when He went there with the thief. Temple ordinances are primarily for the benefit of those who died without them, like the thief.

If the question is too long, I can shorten it. Did the thief on the cross need temple covenants, priesthood authority, baptism by LDS hands, or a temple recommend interview before Jesus said, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise”? That’s the question. You can meme around it, but you still have to answer it.

🚨‼️When the Thief on the Cross Missed the Temple Recommend Interview The thief on the cross had a problem. At least according to the presentation board he had a problem. Actually, according to several presentation boards, a flowchart, two pamphlets, a temple covenant handbook, and a seventy-two-slide PowerPoint, he had a very serious problem. He was hanging on a cross next to Jesus Christ with only a few hours left to live, and unfortunately, he had failed to complete the approved checklist. As he hung there in agony, a group of enthusiastic religious consultants suddenly appeared carrying charts and binders. One of them unfolded a banner titled, “THE COMPLETE PLAN OF EXALTATION.” Another rolled out a chart showing baptism, priesthood authority, temple ordinances, eternal marriage, sacred covenants, worthiness interviews, and several other items that the thief had somehow neglected to complete. The thief looked down at the chart and frowned. “Well, that’s not ideal.” One of the men adjusted his tie and pointed to a box halfway down the chart. “Have you been baptized by someone holding the proper authority?” The thief shook his head. The consultant made a note. “Okay. Not great. Have you received temple ordinances?” The thief looked at the nails in his hands and feet. “I’m having a little trouble scheduling that right now.” Another consultant stepped forward with a clipboard. “Have you completed your temple recommend interview?” The thief blinked. “My what?” The consultant looked concerned. Very concerned. The kind of concern usually reserved for someone who just informed you they accidentally mailed their house to another country. Meanwhile, Jesus was hanging right beside him. The thief turned his head toward Christ and said, “Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.” One of the consultants nearly dropped his clipboard. “Wait!” he shouted. “You skipped twelve important steps! We haven’t even discussed sacred covenants yet!” Jesus answered, “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” The entire consulting team froze. One man quietly erased half of his presentation. Another began nervously flipping through the handbook looking for an emergency appendix titled, “What To Do If Jesus Saves Someone Before The Presentation Is Finished.” There wasn’t one. The thief smiled. The consultants looked increasingly uncomfortable. One finally cleared his throat and said, “Technically speaking, this creates several administrative challenges.” The thief nodded toward Jesus. “Seems like He handled them.” The consultants huddled together for several minutes. Charts were examined. Timelines were reviewed. Someone produced a graph. Another suggested adding a new category called ‘Special Circumstances.’ Yet every road led back to the same problem. The thief was going to paradise. Without a temple. Without a recommend interview. Without a covenant pathway. Without a priesthood restoration seminar. Without a single chart. Finally one exhausted consultant looked up and asked, “How exactly are we supposed to explain this?” The thief smiled and pointed to the Man hanging beside him. “Maybe start with Him.” And for the next two thousand years, every system that tried to put something between a sinner and the finished work of Christ would have to explain why a dying thief got into paradise with nothing more than faith in the Son of God. The thief never attended a temple. He never completed a worthiness interview. He never passed an ordinance checklist. He never joined a religious institution. He simply believed. And somehow, despite the complete absence of charts, binders, presentations, committees, and approval processes, Jesus Christ still managed to save him. That has been causing problems for complicated systems ever since.

"At some moment in the world to come, everyone you will ever meet will know what you know now. They will know that the only way to live forever in association with our families and in the presence of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, was to choose to enter into the gate by baptism at the hands of those with authority from God. They will know that the only way families can be together forever is to accept and keep sacred covenants offered in the temples of God on this earth. And they will know that you knew. And they will remember whether you offered them what someone had offered you." - Elder Eyring

If Mormons just said these things up front. I wouldn't agree, but at least I'd respect the forthrightness. Instead Mormons play word games. If they are simply ashamed of these beliefs, why believe them! Either be proud and upfront or abandon shameful beliefs.

@ServusDeiVivi @PopePiusIXStan I mean, I trust Paul. He was persecuting Christians prior to his vision of the resurrected Christ. No witnesses vouched for his vision. No one vouched for Stephen seeing Christ on the right hand of God. Not sure why detractors expect Joseph Smith to be held to a higher standard.

@LoganMPierce1 @theblessedsalt That's an illogical claim. How would God "fall" when God sets the standard for His creation? Would God "fall" against His OWN standards? What kind of God cannot even live up to His own standards, and how is it just that He could judge us for the same failures?

@ServusDeiVivi @theblessedsalt It’s possible for God to fall. That He could “cease to be God.” Now, He’s not going to, because He knows how to avoid it. He just wants us to know that He walks a razor’s edge of necessity. No other scripture contains this doctrine, save the Book of Mormon.

@theblessedsalt It's like they think in order for God to be perfect, He can't ever do anything, because eventually there will be a first time He's done something (that we know of) and that'll be an excuse for God "changing" lol He's outside of time for this very reason.

Let's see if I have this right: A) Everyone has to hate Israel because of the death toll in Gaza, in a war that--regardless of your views about it--they did not start on Oct. 7. B) We were "lied to" about Russia, which invaded Ukraine (nobody denies that), resulting in a collective death toll thus far of at least a half a million dead. Russia, though, is the good guy. Regardless of your views on either conflict, if you can't see that the "anti-war" grift of Owens et al is not fueled by principle but by something much, much darker, than I can't help you.
Candace Owens@RealCandaceO

The Christian expression and heritage here is unmatched. Unsurprisingly, they are lying to us about Russia. ✝️

@marcado_razon @GrandpaJoeSux That argument wouldn’t work against the Mormon pioneer stock who fled persecution to eke out a life in the wilderness. But the fruits of their sacrifice, the healthy, stable communities are somehow evidence AGAINST the church being true? Think it through.

@nazjavladimir The Apostle Stephen’s witness of the Son standing at the right hand of the Father is any less real or miraculous because those who stoned him to death saw only clouds. The Book of Abraham is no less inspired because those without the gift of prophecy can’t see what Joseph saw.

Why there is no apologetic defense for the book of Abraham: it has to violate basic rules of evidence to function! The "Catalyst Theory" Calls Joseph a Liar; and The "Missing Scroll Theory" Ignores the Facsimiles. Case closed.

@Truth_matters20 “After all we can do” in this case means “in spite of.” Example: “after all you could do to lie about the church (IE in spite of your best efforts to distort the doctrine).” The truth wins out after all you could do. In spite of your efforts, not because of them.

The book is a false fiction made up by smith. The plates never existed, unless you can provide them right now. The resurrection was witnessed by over 500 people, the bad faith actors for the book of Mormon don't give it credence. The plates never existed again... So no they did not. I am sorry but I have asked the spirit, and the spirit does not claim testimony over the bom. A fool can follow anything to hell if you believe hard enough. While Jesus touched and healed actual people, smith did nothing of the sort.
