@m13v_ @FactoryAI Interesting take, didn’t think about this. Will likely rewrite this to a skill.md file and keep it out of my agents.md! Side note, do you have Ruby/RoR experience?

@Loganethan @FactoryAI writing an agents.md rule to gate research sessions is the right instinct. the part that gets skipped: every line in it still fires on every turn, so a bloated file burns tokens on the generation pass that never needed it. ccmd.dev/r/vra4p2je

@Loganethan @futonchill Everyone referencing the 1 page where he talks briefly about his birth; he is not confirming it as an excuse. He’s just looking for some kind of answer 4 Kashimo. He says “Who knows?” right before the response. The irony is that Sukuna doesn’t care or need a reason for why he is.

I watched Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle in the theatre and realized that every single villain has the same kind of sob story. Is there any anime villain who is just evil without a reason? Why does every antagonist need to have a tragic backstory?

First of all, that's an absurd statement. Regardless, I'm not entertaining this question because it lacks merit. You and I both know that we do in fact know more than "LEGIT NOTHING" about Sukuna. If your argument had been, we know less about Sukuna than we do other characters in the story I could have agreed with you. Things we know about Sukuna... Do we know what era he was from/born in? YES Do we know how many arms and fingers he has? YES Do we know how many eyes he has? YES Do we know that he has a mouth on his stomach? YES Do we know what his nickname is? YES Do we know what his CT is? YES Do we know what his DE is? YES Do we know what he did to his twin in the womb? YES This is a short list of just known facts, there's plenty more inferences from various parts/panels in the story that lead even deeper into who he is as a person, psychologically & emotionally.

@AJI_LEYE @Loganethan @futonchill I asked him what we know about him as a person. If thats it, ur response sucks. Cuz guess what, most serial killers were born that way. Doesn't mean we know ANYTHING about em as a person lol

You still have not explained why Sukuna inflicts violence. Saying he was born into power is not a motive. Muzan’s violence is driven by fear of death and the desire for immortality. Sukuna does not have an ideology, trauma, or survival goal. He kills because he enjoys domination and views others as beneath him. That is the distinction.

@Loganethan @futonchill No it doesn’t. Muzan was born into the nobility, and his fear of mortality is not unique. History is full of despotic rulers who sought immortality in earnest. You say Sukuna was born into being an oppressor but that’s literally the case with hereditary nobility. It’s the same.

Whether that framework is accurate or not, Sukuna does not have a specific reason for inflicting violence beyond being a predator by nature. Muzan’s identity and will are entirely defined by his obsession with surviving forever. By your own standard, Sukuna is part of the oppressor class simply because he was born into it, not because he is pursuing a goal or reacting to trauma. That makes him fundamentally different from characters like Muzan, Obito, Madara, and others.

@Loganethan @futonchill Sukuna is of the oppressor class and the same is true of Muzan. Muzan, Kokushibo, and Doma all represent the different branches of the ruling classes: bourgeois, military, and religious. The tragic backstories of other demons exposed them as class traitors to this predator cabal.

The manga never clearly frames Sukuna as a victim of class oppression in the way, say, Demon Slayer frames its demons. He can be read as an embodiment of unchecked elite violence or aristocratic terror a figure produced by a brutal social order rather than an external evil. Regardless, the point still stands, sukuna’s evil is derived very differently then the typical anime antagonist.

@Loganethan @futonchill Sukuna’s backstory is literally Japanese history and the tragedy of class stratification. The revolutionary struggle with traditional forms of power is the most repetitive theme in JJK. Other demons in Demon Slayer are defined the same way as embodiments of their class.

Yes agreed, but the point still stands that: Sukuna doesn’t have the typical anime tragic backstory for which sets the foundation for being evil. He doesn’t have a Madara Uchiha or Obito story that “justifies” his actions. Sukuna is evil just for the sake of being the best at it. It’s a sport to him that he loves, that he enjoys to partake in.

@Loganethan @futonchill Sukuna is literally a product of his time. He’s not just evil for the sake of it, achieving dominance was the only actual value of curse sorcery during the Heian period. He exists in a historical context.

Only issue with waiting to buy the domain: Any serious domain holder with a strong 4–6 letter .com is going to do their homework when you reach out. If they see you’ve already built a brand (or worse, have traction), you just validated the value for them. Now the price is 10x–20x. Yes, there are ways to play it smart (TM strategy, stealth buying, etc.) — but most founders who wait until PMF end up massively overpaying. If you really believe in the name, it can make more sense to finance it early at a lower valuation over 60–72 months than to try buying it later when you’ve proven it’s valuable. Lease-to-own > paying a success tax later.

what not to do as a startup: cal[dot]com sold us on a feature that they internally knew they were soon deprecating we spent a month building something using that feature only to find out ourselves this week spent days trying to get in contact with someone from their team (we're paying users) we emailed their founder twice and got hit with an "unsubscribe" after later apologizing, their founder bailed on the call with our team at the last minute and had some entry level growth person take his place and dodge our questions it's SO easy to do the little things right.. yet some startups still can't get out of their own way
