@TigersJUK It’s because the stuff isn’t as electric as it once was so when he does make a mistake anywhere near the heart of the plate, which virtually all pitchers do, it’s gonna get tagged.

Kenley is weird because he’s striking out more guys than the last 4 years, just had 6 straight scoreless outings…
His career HR/9 is 0.88 & it’s 2.51 this season.
The walks are up & he’s made like 5 mistakes and every single one has been put in the seats it’s kind of crazy.

@TigersJUK We didn't know Jensen was gonna suck. We also didn't know we were gonna have 19 injured players. I will say this though I didn't know we wouldn't score runs. Two things are for sure surprisingly Kevin McGonigle, and Green who had 200 strikeouts last year. Other than that we suck.

@TannersTigers For relievers I prefer WHIP as an example over ERA. Generally I also want to see a strikeout rate of 1+ per inning and hopefully a modest to low walk rate.

@confusion_reign He’s throwing 91-93. His stuff is still ok when he locates it, but at the velocity he’s at these days, even with a still decent cutter, he needs to be perfect with command. The pitch he threw on 0-2 is one of the worst you will ever see

If Kenley looked like shit it would be one thing but he doesn’t. He’s got the best K%/whiff% he’s had in a decade. He’ll look amazing and then throw a hanger and EVERY time it’s smoked. It’s crazy. He’s given up 4 barrels this year and every single one cost them a game
