Blockchain is fine. OneKey is fine. No single point of failure, no worries.

🎣 No More Fake Hardware Wallets in 2024! The crypto world has seen one too many cases of "bait and switch" scams. You've probably heard of this — scammers use fake media accounts to direct users to counterfeit exchanges or wallet apps. Once users deposit a certain amount of funds, the scammers pull the rug, taking all the money. A common strategy involves manipulating crypto products, known in the security world as "supply chain attacks." Last year, several media outlets exposed incidents where overseas users purchased Trezor hardware wallets that had been tampered with by scammers. The mnemonic phrases generated by these wallets were specially modified by hackers, making it easy for them to steal the assets inside. In the blockchain world, the principle is zero trust and self-verification. Here at OneKey, we'd like to share how we've incorporated blockchain technology to achieve maximum zero trust, ensuring you won't end up with a fake OneKey. (It might be a bit hardcore, but it's worth it.) 📧 One-time Seal Do you remember the CKB's BTC scaling technology RGB++? One of its meme tokens was called Seal, named after the core technology of the RGB expansion scheme—one-time seal. This technology was first proposed by Peter Todd in 2016. If you're familiar with Bitcoin's mechanism, you'll easily see that Bitcoin's UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) inherently possesses a "one-time" property. A UTXO is like a seal: it gets locked when created and unlocked when spent. According to Bitcoin's consensus rules, an output can only be spent once and cannot be "double-spent," with security ensured by the entire Bitcoin network's computational power. RGB leverages this, encapsulating RGB asset information and contract states within the UTXO to ensure the security of the expansion network. This concept aligns with our anti-supply chain attack product packaging. Specifically, we use top-notch industry self-destruct seals and tamper-evident packaging to ensure the product isn't tampered with during delivery. Self-destruct Seals: Our packaging boxes use self-destruct tear strips. Once torn, they leave obvious damage marks that cannot be restored. This ensures that the product you receive is opened for the first time. Tamper-evident Tape: The internal transparent packaging of the product uses tamper-evident tape. This tape forms a complete letter pattern when first torn open. If opened again, the letter pattern is destroyed and cannot be restored. When you receive your OneKey hardware wallet, the first thing to do is check these two indicators—ensure the packaging box's self-destruct seal has no signs of tampering and that the tamper-evident tape on the hardware wallet's packaging is intact, with the letter pattern undisturbed. If you find any issues with the self-destruct seal or tamper-evident tape, please contact our @onekey_support customer service for assistance and replacement to ensure your device's security. 🛡️ Client-side Verification Client-side verification means performing data validation on the user's device to ensure the data's integrity, authenticity, and legitimacy. In the Bitcoin ecosystem, each Bitcoin client downloads a portion or the entirety of the blockchain and uses predefined rules to validate blocks and transactions. These rules ensure that each node independently verifies the blockchain's consistency and validity without needing to trust any centralized entity. Similarly, Bitcoin scaling solutions like RGB use client-side verification, allowing users to validate only the UTXO branches relevant to them without worrying about unrelated transaction history. The security of RGB's state is ensured through client-side verification, independent of any centralized third party. This reflects the blockchain's zero-trust philosophy—"Don’t Trust, Verify." For the Degen crowd, that's "DYOR" (Do Your Own Research). For OneKey hardware wallets, besides verifying the integrity of the packaging, it's equally crucial to ensure the firmware hasn't been tampered with. When using the OneKey App, we continuously verify your firmware's security. Of course, you can also perform your own verification. This level of self-verification is possible only with open-source hardware products. OneKey undergoes regular audits by major security firms and has been fully open-source from day one—you can easily find our source code on GitHub. For hardcore users, you can follow this tutorial ( help.onekey.so/hc/en-us/artic… ), to learn how to manually verify that the firmware on your OneKey hardware wallet matches the open-source code released on GitHub. By leveraging both official and user-initiated client-side verification, any hacker attempts to tamper with the firmware or mnemonic algorithms will be quickly exposed! Additionally, our products, Classic 1s and Pro, utilize multiple state-of-the-art EAL6+ security chips, which is the flagship configuration in the industry, employing the most advanced technology to defend against hacker intrusion and tampering. 🏭 Ensuring Security from the Source With the blockchain-inspired zero-trust methods we've covered, you can be confident that your OneKey wallet remains untampered from the factory to your hands. Of course, choosing a trusted shipping source from the beginning is crucial. Stick to these two links for peace of mind: Official Store with highest-level factory protection: OneKey Shop Official Authorized Resellers: OneKey Resellers 🤔️Ultimately Zero trust is the cornerstone of blockchain security. Through one-time seals and client-side verification, we maximize zero-trust assurance for your hardware wallet from production to delivery. And remember, always verify the trustworthiness from the source. This mindset and methodology apply to all crypto products. —— If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team at @onekey_support.
