During a Spotlight at @Naturalis_Sci I shared insights about research at sea 🌊 I delved into life aboard RV Pelagia, sorting pteropods at 3 in the morning, and sampling in challenging conditions on the stormy North Sea. I hope to have inspired some young ocean enthusiasts!🐚

We aim to answer both technical questions regarding the application of DNA metabarcoding, and ecological questions on the distribution of planktonic calcifiers in a changing ocean 🌊

This resulted in over 350 PCR reactions, and a lot of novel experiences with high-tech laboratory equipment. 🧬
