Sadly, another example of a lack of management of newly planted trees in a promised “wildlife haven.” A box ticking exercise gone wrong, like so many hundreds of new build housing estates around the UK. The construction industry needs to get its act together to ensure this stops.

Residents at Trinity Meadows, #Stowupland were promised a wildlife haven outside their homes. But a few years on they mainly have dead trees as the developer has failed to look after the area. I'm backing Green councillors in calling on Bloor Homes to deliver what they promised.

Sad week next week, the veteran oak named after @JuliaBradbury in the middle of Melton Fields will be felled by @TSL_Ltd to make way for a huge @AmazonUK @amazon warehouse approved by @East_Riding they are taking cuttings to be cultivated and planting on the public open space 🌱

“Ripon Cathedral has taken the decision to pause the planning application for its proposed north side development for a number of months.” Honestly @riponcathedral & @northyorksc, has the national spotlight given you no idea about how the public feel about these plans?! 😖 Do the right thing, scrap the proposals you have & don’t join so many other failed councils in destroying vital habitats/life systems that are the beautiful trees surrounding the cathedral. @BrianMcHugh2011 please keep me posted as to how this progresses, I have a feeling it’s not the last time we need to raise national support… Thanks to everyone involved who has put a hold at least to this potential catastrophe - you’re all heroes 👏👍🌳
