@bobnweav93 @BBQChiefs It was tack-on penalty to the end of a run. Since distance to the goal (25/26 yards dependent on how you see it) was less than doubled penalty yardage (15*2=30 yards) the half-distance punishment was used.

@umutcem07 @F1GuyDan 2007 season used different points system (each race was calculated like F2 sprint). And because Kimi's structure of finishes is more favorable to the current points system than the one of Lewis's, it somewhat compensates Kimi's deficit coming into final race.

@oisyn @formularacers_ Yes, but there is one scenario, where that's not the case: Lando finishes 1st in sprint and 2nd in the main race (18+8=26) while Max finishes 1st in the main race and gets no points for sprint (25+0=25).

@SoSinChess @formularacers_ If Lando outscores Max by 1 point, that implies that both don't win, and the difference will be 25 points. Max can win the next race and Lando can DNF, tying them in points *and* P1 finishes, but Lando will then still be champion because he has more P2 finishes.

This equation just became a lot simpler. If Norris outscores Piastri and Verstappen by 2+ points in Qatar, he becomes Champion.

@robunderwood @BeenScoredB4 Yes, but at same time I recently learned that Minnesota 'technically' kicked a EXP in Minneapolis Miracle (they didn't, they took a knee). I would imagine Houston would have done the same thing here.
