I was an atheist for 20 years, and an outspoken, loud one (a lot like OP), and honestly that was the part that opened my mind. I saw this beautiful sunset across the Rockies and something in me just went “this isn’t by chance”. It’s been ten years and frankly sometimes I’m embarrassed at the faith it took me to continue in disbelief with so much proof all around me. Ask him, brother! Ask him to show you, he’ll come thru if your heart is truly willing. I know it sounds crazy but dude it changed my entire life.

Respectfully, the Quran proscribes them, but the Bible (the Torah & septuagint as well as any/all later translations) does not, so I see a definitive difference there. I know I came out hot on that and I don’t mean offense if you do follow the religion by omitting those, but if the source documents say it, I have to think it’s a part of the doctrine.
