@timpadams1 Oh no you don’t, Cincinnati does not get to hide behind the potted plant hoping nobody sees them. Tech took their licks, now it’s Cincinnati’s turn. You don’t get to just try and shoot the messenger and hope it goes away.

I’m not sure how many times Brendan Sorsby’s advisors/lawyers/agent/AD etc. are going to shoot themselves in the foot, but they are eliminating toes at a rapid pace. They’ve already made the 22-year-old “kid” into the most disliked player in college football before finally taking the ineligibility punishment that every other athlete took for betting on his sport/team. Now, his agent wants to exact some sort of revenge from Cincinnati by claiming the UC coaches/staff/administration knew he was betting on football and just covered it up. This is likely going to highlight exactly what they shouldn’t want to happen: shining a light on Sorsby’s already admitted schemes to keep people from knowing what he was doing. At some point, Sorsby and his family need to listen to an advisor that wants to focus on the best way to move forward, to highlight his positive qualities and to eliminate any further unnecessary drama. Right now the goal seems to be trying to muddy the waters as much as possible, blame others for his circumstance and constantly deflect blame away from the “22-year-old” kid. Moving forward with hopes of getting into the NFL supplemental draft and being chosen by an NFL team should be the priority. Maybe admit mistakes and taking responsibility for bad behavior would be a great start. Focus on what he’s learned throughout this ordeal. Ask for a second chance to prove he’s matured and has become a better 22-year-old kid. The NFL quarterback position demands leadership, taking responsibility, and certainly is no place for an adult age “kid.”

@DavidPurdum Cincinnati has admitted this? I have not seen or heard one single clarification about what happened from that school. Where is this press release at so I can read it?

Cincinnati's knowledge of Brendan Sorsby's gambling stems from an alert the school received in Aug. 2024, showing Sorsby attempted to access fantasy site PrizePicks, according to court documents. The school questioned Sorsby after the alert and was told that he was denied access to PrizePicks and had not placed any wagers. UC says it did not receive any additional alerts related to Sorsby during his two seasons.

@dannykanell If NCAA knew about the issue before he transferred to tech then yes Tech absolutely is a victim. In that scenario there was absolutely a duty to inform.

Last Thing I’ll say about the Brendan Sorsby Situation until we get concrete updates: Cincinnati also plays a significant role in this entire situation as well… it’s not just Texas Tech They knew about the Gambling Problem that Sorsby and instead of doing what’s best for him and the game? They kept it under wraps. Scott Satterfield chose his own job security over what’s best for Brandon Sorsby/what’s best for the integrity of the sport.

He has a 5 mill contract right now and there has already been several NFL teams indicate they are going to pass on him due to all the baggage.

@Doc_Texas The second sorsby plays a snap, the NCAA should make Texas Tech postseason ineligible. It’s the only way a point can’t be made to not go around the NCAA.

Texas Tech is about to try and win a bunch of games with a player the NCAA has ruled ineligible. Against a pathetic schedule they probably will get some wins and then have to vacate them when it goes to trial and the player loses after the season... congratulations
