I thought the whole point of AWS was you can scale on demand. Why is Anthropic so compute limited? Is all the AWS compute sold already? Good time for the semiconductor industry. Never seen such sustained demand.

@henriqworf @peterrhague If it affects the physical world we can use those physical interactions to measure and characterize it. If it doesn't affect the physical world then it's just made up and doesn't matter.

@peterrhague No because non-visible light is still light, you can reach the conclusion it exists by reasoning the same way you can with the existence of black holes OP is talking about an entirely different, alien concept, something our brains literally cannot grasp

@peterrhague Not quite, heat energy is something we perceive all the time in frequencies outside of vision. It's just a tactile rather than visual sense.

@constans I think it’s the opposite. A healthy economy means that highly skilled people are comfortable enough to stay at jobs they are overqualified for. A bad economy is where everyone is desperate to get higher pay.

@Authw8 It was sexism really. Purple haired girlboss triggered the nerds. Nevermind starkiller base was boring and the deaths had no stakes. Hyperspace ramming was breathtaking in theaters.

Lovely strawman, there is no pressure next to a vacuum. There is ONLY a gradient from high to low pressure. And how? Gravity. Cry more

@TehlohSuwi @miaaowing What part trips you up? I've seen questions about how records work but the hang up is usually understanding how sound works.

You just know the Apple engineers that were responsible for the triple-camera lens switching system in the iPhone Pro models were sweating bullets watching this hoping the A19 Pro image signal processor would make the right call to focus on the Moon
Reid Wiseman@astro_reid

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

@skepticalsports That is not the same as probably p for N tries. Your formula assumes the probably changes each try.

That chances of a 1/n event happening in n tries converges quickly on 63% (1-1/e to be exact) has been one of my favorite useful real world math shortcuts since high school.
