Web3 Gaming has a massive KOL problem but they aren't actually to blame. It is a very big symptom of a much larger issue and I think there are a few ways to fix some of the broader issues at play here. Everyone is constantly complaining about KOLs not playing the games they are discussing and constantly switching from game to game, but quite frankly, that's what the space demands. Users, games and the algorythm are all demanding this very scenario. A new Crypto Game drops every day, and people want to know if its any good, quickly. Not only does the KOL not have enough time to play it, but they have about 100 other games they need to discuss as well. Not only that but this X algorithm purely focuses on trends meaning new releases either pay to force a trend, or get zero traction at all. Take my content for example, my Illuvium hot takes do decently with my audience, but Axie Infinity content simply outperforms, not only because it has a larger audience but because its trending very often. This can be seen with many Ronin games, likely because they have the largest general community. So do you want KOLs to: Stay with 1 game and play it enough? (and get no views) Play every new game for 2 minutes, not long enough to form a proper opinion (and get views) But maybe this is all a symptom of a larger problem, either our KOLs aren't gamers and they are more focused on their business, or the games aren't good enough that they hook a KOL in for the long term? All I know is that users can't get hooked into a game without a community, and a community is empowered by content that helps onboard newcomers. Maybe Games should be paying for supplementary content for their product, rather than random shitposts on this god forsaken app.

I mean, many of the largest companies today were created after founders bankrupted several startups with bad decisions. I don't see any reason someone can't learn from their mistakes and improve? I'd counter that a founder that doesn't listen to feedback, and repeats that behaviour, much much harder to envision success after that pattern.

If a founder makes a series of bad decisions in a row, write off your cash, there is no reason he will suddenly make a series of good decisions! We recently invested in a business and since we made the investment the founders have made bad decisions at many junctures. (despite being advised better) The irony is that they actually have great tech! I asked the investment team to mark down the investment to ZERO! They were shocked and upset and asked "why"? It's simple, If a founder makes a series of bad decisions in a row, there is no reason to think that suddenly he will make a series of good decisions! And, in any business, a series of bad decisions will inevitably compound and take the business to zero!

I hope crypto is just like the dot com bubble. Yes, most of the actual domains failed, but the internet exploded. Most speculative alt coins might under perform, but the crypto infrastructure will prevail along with solid projects. I can't wait.

They could rug the project instantly if they choose to (not saying they would). Even tech aside, it's too early to know it's even a safe buy

Polkadot's architecture was early. The asset hub launching can do pretty much everything Ethereum and Solana can do, as the hub switches it to an L0 plus an L1. The prices are due to a lack of demand for DOT. Staking and governance weren't enough, but all that changes with the hub.

Polkadot ⭕ - I'm riding with Gavin I think we agree that the price has been frustrating. It topped out at the end of 2021 like many other tokens, followed by only bear market rallies over the last few years. Because we did not do more early on to create sustained demand for DOT, and because parachains launched straight into the 2022 bear market, we dipped harder than others in our class and have underperformed. The only real way to appreciate this is to zoom out. Look at where the market is today, think about the actual goal of Web3, and then look at the tech to see which platform is closest to fulfilling that promise over the next few years. Given what Polkadot 2.0 + Hub is now and what JAM is becoming, I am riding this one out with Gavin.
