(1/2) Seriously, Resident Evil Requiem is doing the numbers Capcom was hoping that Resident Evil 6 would do back in 2012. I'm sure they're absolutely celebrating, & wouldn't be surprised if Requiem's performances was seen as clearing a milestone for RE internally, to push forward

Shift in tone. This goes for the whole series, it always had some sense of humour about itself to break up the horror elements but that's been slowly bleeding out of the series as they aim for a more purely serious tone and it's taken some of the unique flavour from the series.

@Jawmuncher Sony sabotaged themselves this generation when they shifted most of their studios to multi player projects that got cancelled and now are reverting back to single player development means it will be years before we see the single player output again like the PS4 gen.

I feel like Sony doesn’t launch enough 1st Party fare these days for this approach to really work.
Not a talk of quality, just as with console, people like the libraries they’ve built, and I think IP holders forget that’s the same reason people stick with specific consoles.

@JJunkWarrior to be fair the hd project helped it alot graphically because capcom didnt bother upgrading the graphics in their ps4.. very lazy work. i think capcom needs to buy the hd project for consoles from these amazing fans that made it.
