Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Germany, Femi Fani-Kayode, has said God forbid that former presidential candidate Peter Obi becomes President of Nigeria. He, however, failed to give a reason for making the statement during an interview with Nigeria Today News Network. Speaking further, Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, advised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abandon his presidential ambition to enable others vie for the seat. He said, “I have respect for our former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, but I also believe that it’s time for him to simply say ‘let others continue the work’.” On opposition politics in Nigeria, Fani-Kayode stated that no such thing exists because it has collapsed. Regarding the opposition from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Fani-Kayode described the party as desperate for power, with no vision to move the country forward. “I don’t see ADC as an opposition party: I see them as an association of people who are desperate for power. Individuals who are discredited, individuals who have no hope in hell of moving this nation forward. The opposition has collapsed in Nigeria. There is no opposition because they don’t even know how to be in opposition. How can they keep the Government on its toes when they are busy bickering amongst themselves, fighting amongst themselves and they are fast asleep in bed snoring!” He recalled how strong the All Progressives Congress (APC) was as an opposition party and how it defeated the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). @alpontif @asemota UK that Nigerians have been using their properties to launder money since the 1st Republic, that was the backyard of Russian oligarchy till the Ukraine war or is it the Middle Easterners we should talk about, or Tony Blair killing the Saudi Arms deal investigation?

I don't know about Wigwe my Chief, and I will never join the mob to tarnish the image of any successful person regardless of how they got successful. That said sir, The UK financial system is actually one of the best tools in the arsenal of any money launderer. A very very effective tool at that. The Brits, like most Europeans are good at creating elaborate rules of law that seem to solve or prevent a problem, with enough ➿ loopholes for the problem to persist as long as it benefits their system. A recent Port deal was approved....with the UK Financial investigators knowing who the ultimate beneficiaries are, but seeing as it benefits their system, they turn a blind eye. In years to come, we will discover another form of Abacha loot in the UK Financial system, when it's politically expedient for them to do so, again in furtherance of their national goals. The UK financial system is built on extensive hypocrisy as far as stolen money is concerned, and all the evidence shows that...despite all the appearances of their systems and law enforcement.

The last set of people you would want to mess around with are UK financial crime investigators. Nobody in their right mind would do shady business with London as the location to keep the assets that are proceeds of crime. People who carry rumors should realize that a professional accountant who rose to be a GTBANK Executive Director and later CEO and owner of his bank is very different from an anyhow banker or an Agbero politician. Herbert and Aig were shrewd and hard businessmen. They cut us out of a $100m deal we brought to them once and I kept my distance after that but we could not fault them because it was by the book. We couldn’t be part of the deal as we were not a financial institution. People that knew us from home and from wearing pants did not break the law to cut us into a deal we brought to them and someone will think that they would be doing careless shady property deals?? Second base jare.

I refuse to believe El-Rufai has been released. That would be an unprecedented ridicule of the judiciary. He was remanded by the court and can only be released by the court. His bail application was to be argued on Tuesday. Releasing him is an abuse of judicial process.

It’s not pretense. I once asked my friend who lives in the UAE why Nigerians in the diaspora (including him) seem more concerned about what’s happening in Nigeria than those living in Nigeria. He replied: “When you live in a country with a functioning system, everything around you reminds you of the abysmal failure of your home country. But when you live in Nigeria, you lack that frame of reference, everything just feels normal.” Whenever we spoke, he was always complaining about the state of the nation. Though he was living in the UAE, he seemed more troubled by Nigeria’s situation than I was, even though I was living there at the time. I didn’t understand it then, but after moving to the United States in 2022, I think I’ve surpassed him.🤣

The US has underwater drones hunting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, has uncrewed surfacre ships on the water and drones in the air. The US has developed the ability to project war without risking its soldiers The US troops killed have been in theatre, but not in direct kinetic action in Kuwait and Iraq American military power has been restrained because the American public does not like US soldiers returning from a distant war in body bags Imagine what future presidents will do knowing that they can project Air, Sea, Land and below the surface military assets without the loss of life As I have said earlier, there is no way the US ends this without the Strait being open for commerce x.com/MarioNawfal/st…

This atrocity is in Ilaje local government area of Ondo State, Nigeria. Not every time, Tinubu, let us hold the right people accountable. Maurice Oripenaye is the current Executive Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area (LGA) in Ondo State, Nigeria. What does he do? Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the current Governor of Ondo State. What does he do? This mess predated these folks, I am sure, but they need to explain to their constituents what they are doing to make this space safe for all, especially for these children born into a war they did not ask for. Nigeria is a vast crime scene, but you knew that.

"Boots on the ground" doesn't always mean a 2003-style march on the capital. Stage two is likely about tactical denial—securing the Strait of Hormuz or neutralising coastal missile batteries. You don't need to occupy the mainland to win the "escalation ladder," but you do need to control the energy chokepoints

You are mixing things up. Constitutionally, every Nigerian has the right to live and work in any part of the country. However, this constitutional right does not nullify Indigeneship and that needs to be respected, so it wrong to describe it as no man’s land. Lagos is only one state out of 36+ FCT, but that one state contributes to 35% of Nigeria’s. Wisdom demands that you nurture well the goose that lays the golden eggs.
