@MrPunyapal I can’t count the number of TestDB and AppProto legacy systems I’ve worked on over the past 30 years

@DrShawn_Gersman @GOPIsrael I expect the unexpected and dramatic is on the way
English

There is one issue POTUS may have missed. Americans hate Presidents who have been beaten or humiliated by a foreign power. They hate this more than they hate a little bit of inflation. Think LBJ and Vietnam, Jimmy Carter and the failed hostage rescue attempt in Iran, George W Bush and Iraq, Biden and the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Americans do not like Presidents who appear weak and inconsistent on the world stage. Accurate or not, the optics show that Trump has been humiliated by Iran in signing this MOU, and the IRGC won by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. This is going to tarnish Trump’s image and legacy unless he does something dramatic or unexpected to reverse the damage.
English

WHY PRESIDENT TRUMP NEGOTIATED THE MOU.
I have been flooded with questions from the media and supporters including my own children about this question here is my understanding in a nutshell:
1. President Trump has not flipped or abandoned Israel. His support for the Jewish State and the Jewish People is incontestable. I have published a list of what he has done in his first term and thus far in this term.
2. President Trump has decided that winning the November midterms and preventing the Dems from taking control of Congress is of paramount importance given the certainty that if this were to happen the opposition will seek to impeach him and derail his Administration’s foreign and domestic policies for the balance of his second term. That the Democratic Party has lost its collective mind is also incontestable.
3. Because American voters vote their pocketbooks and not security and foreign policy issues and are tired of wars, in order to have a chance to win the Midterms, President Trump needs to put the Iran War on pause for the time being, reduce inflation, lower energy and food prices, keep the stock markets booming, stabilize world markets etc. This is how he sees American interests at this time and I agree.
4. The MOU is only an agreement to negotiate and to maintain a ceasefire for the time being . President Trump has all the cards and can determine how much he is willing to ease the US stranglehold on Iran and its proxies.
5. President Trump excluded Israel from the MOU which either by design or default gives Israel a free hand to protect its vital national security interests in Lebanon, Syria and even Iran.
6. I don’t like the content of the MOU or the tone of certain statements from the WH defending it, but that’s politics in an election year. The bottom line is the relationship between Israel and the U.S. is strong and inviolable. Israel will protect its interests and so will the U.S. protect the American public, including U.S. 750,000 U.S. citizens in Israel.
This is the only explanation that makes sense.
I have faith in President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu and Almighty God. Have a restful Shabbat and a great weekend.

@tray2_se @MrPunyapal Years ago on a large Informix DB where date was used constantly, I added a big int intDate column to the main table (40-50Gb) storing YYYYMMDD. Great performance improvement. I’ve tested that approach on other projects just for kicks without success. “It depends” for the win’
English

@MrPunyapal One way around that is to use computed columns. That way you can index that column and get away with filtering on the year alone. Like always it depends on the need.

@JoeBobRayBob @DD_Geopolitics She told our military to pound sand when we asked to land at Sigonella, she deserves what she gets

@DD_Geopolitics I wonder what she did to piss him off? It doesn't take much, any disagreement, and he throws people under the bus, regardless of past loyalty.

🇺🇸🇮🇹 Trump Humiliates Meloni in Phone Call — Rome Cancels US Trip
Trump told Italian TV that Meloni "begged" him for a photo at the G7 in Évian and that he "felt sorry for her" — adding he wasn't even "obligated" to talk to her.
Meloni responded on video: the claims are "completely invented," she's "frankly stunned," and "Italy and I never beg."
Foreign Minister Tajani scrapped his Miami trip outright, calling the remarks "grave and offensive to all of Italy."

@ira_herve @chapterlegacy_ Are they limited to how long they can hold for a pull or is it just an unspoken rule?

Mojtaba Khamenei letter to the Iranians:
“The passionate and loyal nation of Iran,
As you have been informed, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Presidents of Iran and the United States. On the path to reaching this stage, the officials, out of sincerity and goodwill, made many efforts, and of course, it was the U.S. President who, out of desperation, used various leverage for this matter.
I basically had a different opinion, but due to the commitment that the honorable President, as the head of the Supreme National Security Council, gave me on behalf of himself and other members in safeguarding the rights of the Iranian nation and the Resistance Front, and explicitly accepted responsibility for it, I granted permission.
He has also stated that if the American side wants to be excessive, they will not accept it.
From this moment, we, meaning you proud nation and this humble servant, will await the fulfillment of the stated conditions.
However, it is obvious that future face to face negotiations will not mean acceptance of the enemy’s opinion.
We hope that the prayers of our master, may God hasten his noble reappearance, bring all kinds of victories and triumphs to the honorable nation of Iran.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei”

The advanced nanobubbler technology very effectively killed the algae that has plagued every Lincoln Reflecting Pool reopening—most infamously Obama's reopening—since 1922.
The Reflecting Pool water is crystal clear, and our National Park Service team is now vacuuming up the dead algae resting on the bottom of some parts of the Reflecting Pool—just like the destroyed Iranian Navy resting on the bottom of the Persian Gulf.

@kapicode I have 192GB of VRAM (8x 3090)
Most of the time i use 2 complementary models side by side like Qwen Omni + a dense text model.
My goto is vLLM with AutoRound 4bit quantization when it fits in the VRAM,
if i need to offload to the ram or use GGUF, i fallback to llama.cpp
English

@Osint613 I don't care at this point. Everybody lies. I just don't want Iran to get any money from this. Because they are not going to spend it on their people, but on the IRGC, missiles, drones, terror proxies, corrupt officials and maybe even their nuclear program.

My mom cried on her birthday because I waited until 5:30 PM to call her.
Yeah, you read that right. I'm 30, she's 74. I finished work, picked up the phone, and wished her a happy birthday. To me, that's a normal evening call.
But she was so upset I hadn't called or texted earlier that day, she actually started crying on the phone. Now I feel like the absolute worst person for making her emotional on her special day, but I'm also really taken aback by the whole thing. Was I in the wrong?
English

@SamStoneHere @EWErickson I’m reserving judgment for 60 days as a memo isn’t a deal
English

@TheRealNewzHawk @KosherChutzpah I hope so too. I guess we’ll get our answer in about 60 days
English

@KosherChutzpah I've literally been holding on to that same thought. This just cannot be. It's too bizarre. Something's so off.

@justafigurehead @DRR53EE @VividProwess To be fair I dont think any country in the world should have nuclear weapons. Also every country in the world has a right to defend their borders. The problem with israel is they dont seem to know where their borders are.
English

@Forgivenboyd @DRR53EE @VividProwess Your preference for a terrorist regime to possess nuclear weapons over a liberal democracy tells me everything I need to know. The enemy of your enemy is not your friend in this case
English

@justafigurehead @DRR53EE @VividProwess To buy it from a country would be leagues above stealing it from a country like israel did to the US.
English

@DRR53EE @Forgivenboyd @VividProwess I may be one of those. I’ve tolerated him talking out of his ass for years because he usually would make decisions I thought were best. To come this far to just to snatch defeat from victory? If they hated us before what about now? They’ll just buy a nuke with those billions IMHO
English

@Forgivenboyd @VividProwess I know. But now the people on his side will leave over this ridiculous deal.
