@sch
imagine the possibilities @openai. i like learning new things—say hi! 🏳️🌈 [email protected]

Excited to share that I’ve joined OpenAI to help build the future of financial intelligence. My focus is connecting models directly to the data sources, tools, and workflows analysts use every day. My team’s first product is the Excel plugin. After software engineering, finance will see the benefits of model improvements more acutely than almost any other field. This is just the start for us! More to come soon!

To this end, we developed Multi-Scale Embodied Memory (MEM). The key idea: use different modalities to represent memory at different time scales. 📹 For short horizon memory, we developed an efficient video encoder that lets the model remember fine-grained details about its recent interactions. 📜 For long horizon memory, we train the model to summarize events in text, allowing it to remember events for up to 15 min.

i wish i felt i could trust sam altman. unfortunately as of now, reading posts like feels like incredibly thinly veiled manipulation and frame control, little "admissions" and "i would go to jail for this" would love if any current OAI employees could explain their trust.

@iruletheworldmo ofc i feel many strong things whenever openai makes headlines, but the volume and thoughtfulness of discussion internally is overwhelming, and i feel incredibly proud to work somewhere where people can speak their mind

2 moms, 5 mac minis, 7 kids, infinite @openclaw ideas This episode with @jessegenet might be my favorite How I AI yet 🦞🦞🦞 🦞 🦞 After a tricky start, I finally found my groove with Polly the Clawdbot, and most of that was thanks to being inspired by Jesse. She shows us: - how she runs her homeschool using @obsdmd, her iphone camera, nano 🍌, and openclaw - why she decided to invest in fat stacks of mac minis, for physical partitioning of her personal data - what an army of AI agents can do for a busy mom of 4 who "wants it all" Plus we talk endlessly about how AI is perfect for parents aka people "with no hands." A BIG thanks to this week's sponsor, my good friends at: 💎 @Optimizely - Your AI agent orchestration platform for digital and marketing teams RUN don't walk to watch this one. 10/10 👉 youtube.com/watch?v=96Vl8s…

Stripe founder John Collison explains his product principle of “talking up to the user” John believes current consumer product thinking can be harmful: “You have users by the wheelbarrow. You treat them in aggregate. You talk about MAUs. Everything is statistical and everything - like LinkedIn with the dark patterns and complete your profile - is nudging you towards some business outcome.” He continues: “What we really try to clobber people over the head with at Stripe is that [our users] are people starting a business who are generally really talented… And you can just see it if you go talk to any of them. And so we have another value at Stripe that we try to really inculcate, which is talking up to the user.” To stay connected to their users, Stripe will invite one user to their weekly fireside chats, and they have a conversation about how they use Stripe and what they’d like to see Stripe do better. “I think it’s important to stay connected to this because I think the classic technology product management domain - it’s a bit, I would say, not respectful enough of who the users actually are and how capable they are.” Video source: @MillionStories (2024)
