Great to be in Ponte Vedra Beach today for the @FLSheriffs Association 2026 Winter Conference. We take pride in keeping our communities safe and holding criminals accountable. We couldn’t do that without the courageous men and women of law enforcement. When radicals in places like New York and L.A. fought to defund the police, Florida made historic investments in law enforcement recruitment and retention. Today, some are fighting for illegal alien criminals in places like Minneapolis—but Florida stands strong as the model for states in upholding our country’s immigration laws. Every one of our county sheriffs is enrolled in the 287(g) program, along with our other state and local agencies. In Florida, we support law enforcement, enforce the laws of the land, and reject agendas that subordinate public safety to radical ideology. It was an honor to speak with Florida’s sheriffs today and thank them for all they do to protect the people of our state.
