Sleep masks are probably still my favorite cheap item that improves quality of life, but I just discovered electric insect bite treatment devices, and they're surely a contender. Maybe everyone else already knows about them, but a short (3 sec) application of heat with one of these things appears to immediately cure the irritation of mosquito bites. (~100% success rate for me.) I'm not sure how well understood the mechanism is, but I guess it denatures the proteins that cause the irritation..? People want to work for (or build!) companies that are both robust businesses *and* a force for good. As this movement accelerates, I believe we’ll see more professionals running toward roles that not only challenge them technically but also align with their personal values.

The most consistent interview pattern I’m seeing as we build a new team in health tech: A strong pull from candidates who are genuinely and intrinsically motivated to work on something they care about and that makes a positive change in the world.

Hot take (as an Italian) - The serving order of Primo and Secondo should we switched. It is metabolically healthier to front load protein, fiber, and fats as shown by simply wearing a CGM.

The first is a technical skill that can be learned. The second is a mindset shift and exercise in letting go of old patterns.

The rise of the "AI engineer" is highlighting 2 challenges for traditional devs: 1) They need to learn how to program a computer using natural language and its nuances 2) They need to embrace change and accept that many problems can now be solved with completely new approaches

Reminder (to self): a simple "are you ok" can make someone's day. Yesterday at the Caltrain I got harassed by a lady with mental health problems. A passerby noticed it and asked me: "are you ok?". I immediately noticed a shift from agitated/triggered to appreciative/calm.

I was in an Tesla Uber today and felt a little sick. Entirely separately my wife texted me she was in a Tesla Uber and literally got out a half mile early because she felt sick. The abrupt acceleration and braking (with no sound cues) seems to mess with human bodies.

@Klintcho Yes. Anything that's a transactional job to be done with the help of an assistant feels appropriate for chat/voice. More complex use cases, esp B2B, will need new UX paradigms that integrate the generative step with other affordances.
