People don't realize how absurd this view actually is.
A camera. On a robot. On Mars.
Built by humans on a planet 140 million miles away, launched on a rocket, landed using a sky crane, and now driving across an alien desert taking pictures so detailed you can count the rocks.
100 years ago, your great-grandparents thought airplanes were a miracle.
You are scrolling past Mars on your phone.

@55SweetThing Lore has it that he joked with the surgeon just before the operation to remove the 1981 assassin's bullet that he wanted assurances the medical team were Republicans. He had a charm about him that could make even those who disagreed with him know they were appreciated.

@DavidAFrench Agreed. Incredibly moving scene. And as a reminder, this is what real Nazis do. Don't dimimish the horror they unleashed by calling everone you disagree with a Nazi. You dishonor the victims and normalize their truly monstrous and inhumane conduct.

This scene was gutting. I cannot begin to imagine what it would have been like to discover these atrocities in real time. It would change you forever.

@JonathanTurley So the assumption is that people of color are criminals, ergo signs about neighborhood watch programs are elitist, discriminatory and non-inclusive? How stupid and racist are today's modern "liberals?" Decent folks of all colors and races are anti-crime.

I had to check to be sure that this was not a hilarious addition to the Babylon Bee. The Democratic city council of Ann Arbor, Michigan, unanimously voted to order the removal of anti-crime signs in order to be more "inclusive"... foxnews.com/politics/liber…

@marklevinshow This should surprise no one. They hid Bin Laden for years. I pray POTUS, Hegseth, Rubio et al are smarter than to trust the Pakistanis.

CBS moderator Ryan Yamamoto has just lied in the debate. He claimed that Ronald Reagan (as governor of California) was responsible for cuts In social programs that created homelessness in California.
That is a categorical lie.
The social programs that Mr. Yamamoto is referring to were cuts signed into law by Pat Brown, Jerry Brown's father, who was Governor before Reagan.
I was a college student at that time and I saw the results on the streets with Governor Brown's actions. And I even wrote a paper about it for a college class.
Ryan Yamamoto lied.
Here's yet another example of the bigotry and bias of media when they can't even properly do their research and make whoppers of errors in a debate such as this.

@Section344Lions By all reports, Zeitler wanted to move to Tennessee. There was nothing prescient on Brad's part by letting him go. He didn't have a choice. A word to the wise, if you have nothing original or informative to post, don't damage your brand by posting nonsense just to get clicks.
English

Brad Holmes doesn’t get enough credit for drafting Tate Ratledge.
Kevin Zeitler was an amazing player for us, but also a guy that’s unsigned a year later still & is on the Decker/Ragnow year-by-year plan.
Would have been incredibly easy to just keep bringing him back, and there was an adjustment period for Ratledge last season. But you now have what I believe is an extremely high-end young player that will be here for years to come. And in an offseason where OL was the main focus … he was one of the few pieces we could confidently hang our hats on as something we didn’t need to worry about or fix.
This was a guy that still basically the entire league passed on twice. I really think he’ll end up being one of Brad Holmes’ biggest draft wins. I think he’s a stud.

@epaleezeldin @rosadelauro The good folks of Connecticut's 3rd must be so proud.
English

Nothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent. Today’s self-implosion by @rosadelauro was quite remarkable to witness. Without apology or regret, I will always adhere to the best available reading of federal statute pursuant to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright.

Sincere question: do Trump supporters who genuinely want to reduce political violence actually think that lobbing transparently hypocritical accusations about the left's rhetoric is in any way effective?
Are we really gonna go through another cycle where MAGA folks point out incendiary rhetoric on the left without ever acknowledging that some of the most violent and incendiary rhetoric in America comes from the President and his supporters? Do you not think the rest of the country has eyes and ears?
It's truly awful that President Trump has been the target of political violence. It's also truly awful how he's frequently talked about his political opponents: accusing them of treason, amplifying calls for their execution, publicly celebrating their death, calling them scum, garbage, vermin, animals. It was like 3 weeks ago that he threatened the annihilation of an entire civilization! It was just a few months ago that he and his White House knowingly smeared two Americans who'd been killed by federal agents as domestic terrorists!
I hate political violence. I hate what happened last night. Probably 99% of Americans agree. But let's not insult everyone's intelligence by pretending that the most powerful person in the world isn't a huge part of the problem here.

.@jonkarl says @POTUS called him shortly after 7AM:
"He was calling to see if I was ok with what happened last night...he reiterated many of the things he said in his press conference last night, emphasizing the unity he felt in that moment...and he was quite firm about this: 'That dinner must be rescheduled.'"

There is something disgusting and outrageous about the fact that the secret service agents who saved lives saturday night have not been paid in 60 days. The House and Senate should be locked like a papal conclave and kept in the Capitol until they pass the money for Homeland Security. This is a horrible way to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary
English

@BarackObama Mr. President, please encourage members of your party to vote to pay them.
English

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.

@Section344Lions We just have to remember it is a relative world. Although we improved in absolute terms, did we get better than our rivals? Only time will tell.
English

I think the Lions are clearly better at the two positions of consequence we all talked about going into the offseason (OL, EDGE):
I’d rather have DJ Wonnum (can play all 3 downs, 5-8 sacks a season) and a Top-45 Draft Pick at EDGE than I would AQM (11 sacks, but only 40% of snaps), Tyrus Wheat, & Marcus Davenport.
And I’d rather have Penei Sewell & a 1st-round pick over Sewell and Decker in his last year (if he doesn’t retire) on 1 leg. Would rather have Cade Mays than Graham Glasgow. And Year 2 of Tate Ratledge. And Mahogany without a broken foot. Depth of Borom, Scruggs, Bartch & Frazier is also a significant upgrade.
