@BobbySkinner_ No blockbuster signings but a clear vision. Bigger personnel on offense. Get physical. Build a bully that can still be athletic (Likely + Ricard) Invest in special teams to win close games Add depth and upside in the secondary Get me a G + DT and lets kill the draft

Spoke to multiple sources who thought Calvin Austin III could be a really good value signing. Giants WR room now looks like this: Malik Nabers Darius Slayton Calvin Austin Isaiah Hodgins Gunner Olszewski Jalin Hyatt Beaux Collins Ryan Miller Dalen Cambre Xavier Gibson

@BobbySkinner_ Are we sure WaRob is ripping off 4x that production every year over his contract? Cause that’s the value difference in the contracts….

@MONTECRI5TO If he got $12M APY, Flott is coming in around $8-$9M APY That’s in range for the Giants. Makes it much more likely he’s back in Blue

@TMTLongShort Have been listening to geopolitical cousins on this. Sounds like they don’t view this as part of a broader decoupling strategy. What do you make of their views?

The #Vikings are planning to release veteran DT Jonathan Allen, per @JFowlerESPN. Allen started all 17 games in his one year with Minnesota and had 68 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

@TMTLongShort Love reading your takes on anything and everything. Forces me out of my comfort zone in a great way. Where would you start to build a foundational framework as flexible and expansive as yours? Favorite Books? Podcasts? Papers?

Let me put it in simpler terms. If the labs in aggregate band together and form a pact where none is willing to provide unfettered access to the pentagon then the following outcome is guaranteed: First there will be an EO that designates AI as an existential pillar of military dominance and national security. Then there will be a second EO declaring that compute is a critical input to AI that is in short supply. The government will then take control of all GPU, TPU and inference chip supply which will be allocated based on military prioritization. Because Google, Anthropic and OpenAI decided they wanted to be adversarial the compute will be entirely allocated to xAI and META. Researchers at the other labs will no longer have sufficient compute to run experiments and will churn to the labs that do. Some zealots will smugly stay at OpenAI or Anthropic and assume that their IQ is more valuable than the bitter lesson and scaling laws. Some will be poached to other countries. But the government will have declared AI a national military technology and so the researchers who leave do so on threat of arrest and revocation of their citizenship. US allies who attempt to poach researchers will be restricted access to semis the way China is now. Now to be clear I think Dario will take some face saving measures before any of this happens and just capitulate. But if you think the admin isn’t ready to do any and all of this you are simply not AI-pilled enough or haven’t read sufficient military history. The people at the pentagon have 🫡

If the Top 4 were to go like this, who should the Giants draft at No. 5? 1. Raiders: Fernando Mendoza 2. Jets: Vell Reese 3. Cardinals: Caleb Downs 4. Titans: Sonny Styles

So if I tell you I’ve got a 6’5”, 244-pounder w/ 33” arms who runs 4.49 and verts 43.5” — and he’s already a damn fine football player who improves YOY, but he’s mostly just played off-ball LB —how high would be too high to take him?

@TMTLongShort Is there a period of transition/cycle where we just see crazy growth of like 20-50 employee $1B firms until profits are competed away to zero?

This is true. But the threat of political blowback won’t deter CFOs and shouldn’t deter society. We rely on creative destruction as a society. Nobody went to bat for the blue collar after China entered the WTO. That said I do think UBI is coming. But let’s not make believe the white collar class is any more deserving than the blue collar that came before them. The reason why we’ll provide UBI is because we’ll have significant economic surplus. Not because politicians are being held hostage. Maybe this is just me being emotional in my disdain for the fake email class. I know AI is coming for hedge fund people just as quickly. The difference is I have a misguided belief that agency is still valuable and am arrogant enough to think the marginal employee at Docusign has far less of it than the overpaid kid at Citadel.

lol Block/Square stock is up like 20% on laying off 40% of their headcount while growing and profitable. The Faustian bargain that big tech made with society was by creating a nuevoaristocracy of laptop-class landed gentry, their founders and shareholders were allowed to become wealthy beyond all imagination with little government intervention past slaps on the wrist. Google could cut 90% of the headcount and generate 90% of the revenue. But when this deal is broken, the displaced Baron’s will demand their own Magna Carta - tech leaders are too politically myopic to see this and so the more likely outcome is one of revolution. A rising of modern sans-culottes currently kept busy by the bread and circus’ of Doordash and TikTok but rallied to action by these displaced elites. AI may be the excuse but this has always been an option. Salesforce employs 75,000 people. Including Matthew McConnaughey on over $1,000,000.00 a year. Most of this headcount can hit the road - Covid proved many jobs are ritualistic button pressing exercises in a circular loop of keep up appearances financed by a need for elite docility. AI’s biggest disruption may be giving people the ‘excuse’ to finally break this pact. But I assure you the Maximilien Robespierre of today is not a puffed up perfumed Frenchmun. He’s a forty year old Stanford educated father of 4 who contributed to the Review about to lose his director role in Big Tech and enter the worst job market since the financial crisis. He will likely be equally as unforgiving if executives are not careful about how they carry themselves and their decisions in this coming shift.

Sources: Teams have inquired with the #Bears about trading for DT Gervon Dexter, as the free-agent DT market and draft class are not deep. The 24-year-old started all 17 games last season and has 13.5 career sacks and 42 QB hits. He is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
