🚨 HUGE! Maharashtra’s economy hits $664 BILLION 💥 CM Devendra Fadnavis says if Maharashtra were a country, it would rank around the 30th largest economy in the world. With current growth, the state could surpass economies like the UAE and Singapore in the coming years.

@YuvrajSambhaji @Chh_Udayanraje @JM_Scindia

@r3dash @komal_42 The embassy has offered a solution. The airline has given you accommodation & food. It’s an emergency. What more do you expect? Things take time and during war in uncertain times, they may take longer. Stay calm. Appreciate what you have and thank god for it.

So, it's been 7 days since we've been stuck in Doha. I wanted to share a few updates, since I have been getting a lot of calls/messages: 1. We have no relief flights from Doha to India yet. And, there's no visibility in the horizon either. 2. Indian Embassy of Qatar is mostly incommunicado. The phone lines are near-impossible to connect to. This is adding to the anxiety of many stranded Indian passengers here. @IndEmbDoha I know because we have a WA group to help share information. 3. Accommodation and food are still being provided. And, Qatar Airways has a 24hr help desk at our hotel. 4. Many folks have managed to exit out through Riyadh and Saudi Arabia with on-arrival VISAs (note that you need a stamped UK, US, or Schengen VISA for the same). We haven't done that yet because one of our colleagues doesn't have that option. 5. Thankfully, the embassy @IndEmbDoha has offered to facilitate VISAs for the same but with the caveat that they need 48 hours to respond. I believe -- considering the emergency -- it should be handled faster. Also, the form requires us to share onward flight ticket from any Saudi AIRPORT. What date should we book it for, if we have no clarity on how long it will take for us to get a VISA? Truth be told, I started off calm and composed, despite the loud blasts, and the sirens. But now, the anxiety and frustration is setting in. It is further exasperated by the fact that many folks have been able to get out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. @DrSJaishankar @MEAIndia if you could help all the stranded passengers here and help us in anyway possible, that would be great.

@yishan @BigBrainPsych If you work with them, they fuck you. If you fuck them, they fuck you back harder. But they never cooperate, except early in a relationship to maximize the value of their defection... which is always coming.

In 1980, political scientist Robert Axelrod invited the world's top strategists to a competition. The goal: find the single best decision-making strategy for life. The winner stunned everyone ↓ Axelrod designed a tournament based on the prisoner's dilemma — a situation where two people benefit from cooperating, but each has incentive to betray the other. The rules were simple: • Both cooperate → 3 points each • One defects, one cooperates → defector gets 5, cooperator gets 0 • Both defect → 1 point each Each program played 200 rounds against every other program. Highest total score wins. 14 programs were submitted from leading theorists worldwide — each designed to maximize its own score by any means necessary. Some were cunning — probing for weakness, then exploiting it. Others mixed in random betrayals to confuse opponents. Many were calculating, aggressive, and complex. Axelrod ran the tournament. Then ran it again. Five times over. The same winner emerged every time: Tit-for-tat. One of the simplest programs submitted. Its entire strategy ↓ 1) Start by cooperating 2) Copy your opponent's last move 3) If they defect, defect back immediately 4) The moment they cooperate again, forgive and cooperate That's it. Axelrod ran a second tournament. 62 programs entered. To mirror real life, games now ended at random — no one knew which round would be their last. Tit-for-tat won again. But here's the most counterintuitive part: Tit-for-tat never beat a single opponent head-to-head. It could only tie or lose. Yet across all matchups, it accumulated the highest total score. Why? Axelrod identified four traits that made it unbeatable: • Nice — it never defected first • Retaliatory — it punished betrayal immediately • Forgiving — it restored cooperation the moment an opponent did • Clear — opponents understood its pattern and chose to cooperate Meanwhile, 'nasty' strategies dragged each other into defection wars — destroying themselves in the process. In messier simulations, an even more forgiving tit-for-tat emerged. It occasionally forgave defections without retaliating — and outperformed the original. Axelrod wrote in The Evolution of Cooperation: "What makes it possible for cooperation to emerge is the fact that the players might meet again." The real-world lesson: Leading with cooperation isn't weakness — it's the most effective long-term strategy. Holding grudges weakens you. Forgiveness strengthens you. But no consequences guarantees exploitation. The optimal approach: be kind, be clear, be forgiving — but never be a pushover. A strategy obsessed with winning every interaction often loses overall. One focused on sustained cooperation wins. — Thanks for reading! Enjoyed this post? Follow @BigBrainPsych for more content like this.

Denying permission for Chh. Shivaji Maharaj’s statue and blocking Shiv Jayanti at Lucknow University isn’t ‘procedure,’ it’s a mindset. If self-proclaimed Hindutva forces insult his legacy, how are they any different from a foreign ruling power? @LMC_Lucknow @lkouniv @BJP4India

The untimely passing of Shri Agnivesh Agarwal is deeply shocking and saddening. The depth of your grief is evident in this touching tribute. Praying that you and your family find continued strength and courage. Om Shanti. @AnilAgarwal_Ved
Anil Agarwal@AnilAgarwal_Ved

Today is the darkest day of my life. My beloved son, Agnivesh, left us far too soon. He was just 49 years old, healthy, full of life, and dreams. Following a skiing accident in the US, he was recovering well in Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. We believed the worst was behind us. But fate had other plans, and a sudden cardiac arrest snatched our son away from us. No words can describe the pain of a parent who must bid goodbye to his child. A son is not meant to leave before his father. This loss has shattered us in ways we are still trying to comprehend. I still remember the day Agni was born in Patna on 3 June, 1976. From a middle-class Bihari family, he grew into a man of strength, compassion, and purpose. The light of his mother’s life, a protective brother, a loyal friend, and a gentle soul who touched everyone he met. Agnivesh was many things - a sportsman, a musician, a leader. He studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, went on to set up one of the finest companies Fujeirah Gold, became Chairman of Hindustan Zinc, and earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Yet, beyond all titles and achievements, he remained simple, warm, and deeply human. To me, he was not just my son. He was my friend. My pride. My world. Kiran and I are broken. And yet, in our grief, we remind ourselves that the thousands of young people who work across Vedanta are also our children. Agnivesh believed deeply in building a self-reliant India. He would often say, “Papa, we lack nothing as a nation. Why should we ever be behind?” We shared a dream to ensure that no child sleeps hungry, no child is denied education, every woman stands on her own feet, and every young Indian has meaningful work. I had promised Agni that more than 75% of what we earn would be given back to society. Today, I renew that promise and resolve to live an even simpler life. There was so much life ahead of him. So many dreams yet to be lived. His absence leaves a void for his family and friends. We thank all his friends, colleagues and well-wishers for always being there for him. Beta, you will live on in our hearts, in our work, and in every life you touched. I do not know how to walk this path without you, but I will try carrying your light forward.
