James Gunn says the day his DC deal closed, Warner Bros announced Henry Cavill’s return as Superman — without his knowledge, even as he was already planning his own #Superman movie "It was really unfortunate what happened ... this poor guy" "There were people trying to force their way ... and it was never part of the equation" (via Happy Sad Confused)

Please keep #NoKings protests peaceful! Let’s do our part to pass this along. Instigators on both sides will push and tensions are so high… love and peaceful protest first!! Love thy neighbor… even if you disagree with him or her. #NoKingsProtest #NoKingsDay

I'd focus in on a few power laws so that you can keep the lifestyle you want and also feel excellent, clear headed and have a stable mood. The #1 thing I'd focus on is resting heart rate before bed. Try to get it as low as possible. Eat earlier and lighter; try to lessen the alcohol, maintain a consistent bedtime, screens off at least 20 min before bed. Simple life habits that you fix to avoid in-the-moment debauchery. Still do the things you love and try to control for these factors as best you can. Think of your body as an asset that you want performing at similar levels in 10 years when you'll want to be playing poker with friends and spending time with your wife and friends.

This is my HRV and VO2Max over the past three months of using Whoop. I travelled more, exercised less, slept less, ate more poorly and drank more often than normal. But I still spent time with my wife and kids consistently and kept my poker game on Thursdays which is my way for me to spend time with my friends. All of this said, I think this is what it looks like if you have to make trade offs and live a normal life. I don’t want to change what I accomplished these past three months. Now what? I’m asking this more philosophically in the context of what I’m supposed to be getting out of all of this measurement?

@agnessislia @Tesla Regulatory and public hurdles for sure, which can be good as we need to find the right balance of scale/speed and safety. With that said, will be interesting to see how China develops which could benefit progress here.

@EthicalSource @Tesla Totally agree on the long-term value of autonomous driving ,If Tesla pulls it off, it could flip the whole concept of car ownership. But do you think regulatory hurdles or public trust will slow that progress?

People being taken over by their emotions. @Tesla is the only car out there that has the potential to become an asset rather than a liability, given low maintenance and possibility of autonomous driving with the FSD package. It’s a good product (I love my Y) and investment.

I grew up watching YC videos back in middle and high school in India, which was one of the main reasons I wanted to come to the U.S. for college—especially to the Bay Area. Today, I’m incredibly proud to share that my company, sixtyfour.ai, is now backed by Y Combinator as part of its first-ever Spring batch.

I’m not MAGA. I am an economist and am sharing that when referring to countries with young populations it is not uncommon to use the term “young country”. However I’ll also defend the other perspective of “young country”… Many countries are relatively young compared to the United States which has had a continuous government structure under a single Constitution since 1778 (with independence declared in 1776), versus an India which has been a Republic since 1950, or China (People’s Republic of China) who’s government structure has been in place since 1949. And while those two countries have historic civilizations (let’s not conflate the distinction between state and civilization), India’s current statehood is young relative to the US.

@kimbal I lived in Beijing and worked in China for many years. The CCP government favors relationships over meritocracy more than you’d think. It’s an autocratic system in which so much is swept under the carpet. Impressive population with questionable, non-transparent leadership.
