@RhonddaBryant Yes, a personal gift to Nigel for his security before he was even an MP. Accepted as a private citizen to utilise as he saw fit. Once again, I see no significant issue with this. It has no bearing on Reform’s political activities.

@julianHjessop @GreatBritishTT I didn’t expect the government of the day to keep my NI contributions in an old shoe box with my name scrawled on it. I don’t care what they did with it as long as they gave it back when it was due. Sure, there’s no actual fund but so what. That wasn’t the deal.

@fingaz_1122 @shashj They are products of a choice to negotiate, agree and respect international rules. Europe, US and beyond. Trashing such a system in favour of "might is right" will have consequences and my point is that Trump should consider what the US stand to lose as well as gain short term.

@fingaz_1122 @shashj For a start, US has relied on a predictable environment for trade and investment with Europe. The US is stronger in many ways through coalition power with European countries. USA would not be where it is today without cooperation and collaboration and relative world stability.

Trump can exert US strength, promoting 'might is right' and attacking norms. It's true European countries have become over reliant on US militarily. But I think he should recognise that the US has hugely benefited from the stability of recent decades, that he is now dismantling.
