@chef_of_games @lissthelass I feel like this is being willfully ignorant of the Disney adult phenomena. There is an entire sub-industry of content creation based around saying three rain drops on the sidewalk are a Hidden Mickey. There’s levels to this and nothing is at all close to Disney Adults.

@CottrelloVision Its strange because the original Tomodachi Life has already outsold the entire Metroid franchise since the 3DS. Even Dread, the best selling game in the Metroid series, is at half of Tomodachi Life on 3DS's total sales.

@artemissapphic @ruggyscruggy Tbh I have never really agreed with the Wii game being a remake. At best its a remix of the previous 2 games, and even then I think it stands on its own. I do think that Punch-Out is a deceptively hard game to make because of how much personality needs to be poured into it.

@ruggyscruggy It always kills me when people act like Punch-Out is a game that you couldn't make anymore as if they don't rerelease it constantly all the time. There isn't a new Punch-Out because of changing sensibilities, there isn't a new Punch-Out because that shit is kinda hard to make!!!

@ComicallyBigHat @OTSINDO @soraxblack @IREDN1 I'm not diminishing the impact of Elden Ring and Sekiro. FromSoft is expanding and making more side games...but so far a lot of even the side games are manifesting as Soulsborne spinoffs anyways. Very few companies stick to one thing this hard.

@ComicallyBigHat @OTSINDO @soraxblack @IREDN1 No one in their right mind is claiming that Sekiro or Nightreign are functionally identical to Dark Souls 3 but the point is that they are clearly Soulsborne-like games. Before Dark Souls FromSoft wasn't just making variations of Armored Core.
