I am oversimplifying - for effect. Your point is valid, but what you are describing is critical for any complex automation platform - or low-level task driven system, i.e., automotive, med-devices, the microcontrollers that exist in every device responsible for life/safety. Assigning emotional traits to these potentially deficient areas (as an example) is just absurd. (IMO) It would be no different than the auto industry deciding that any infotainment system error was really, "the systems are showing concern for the driver." I personally believe it's intentional. "Hallucinating", "Poisoning" models, "Context Fatigue" etc. It's to build on both the cultural mystique that exists, but also to hype the business model - to rationalize that this is much more than just expected technical advances (Moore's law) and not just hyper emulation ending in great video clips with girls with cat ears or fake engagement videos. I use AI regularly and I'm a big advocate for explicit, definable, rote, and complex tasks that save time and give greater accuracy. Going to AI to look for 'more' than this - I feel is a fool's errand. "HAL", "MU/TH/UR", "Skynet" etc. etc. we have been selling this to ourselves as a society for generations. Of course, the first thing we are going to do is humanize it. *shrug* :) We live in interesting times.

A dedicated public servant with legal authorization to remain in the country, Rafael showed up for a routine immigration appointment and, despite following the rules, he was detained and has now been held for months. He should be immediately released.
