My brother in Christ, if the driver is racing in the fastest car is because he earned to race in that car.
There are a few exemptions but at least 90% of drivers in the fastest car are there for a good reason

The 12 hour reset is because acknowledging the housing crisis means admitting their home equity gains came at their kids' expense.
Their house went from $80k to $600k not because they made a great investment but because an entire generation got priced out. That's not a fun thing to sit with.
So by morning they've re-rationalized it back to "you just need to budget better."

I am skeptical that "happiness" stats mean anything, it feels like Scandinavian countries always top these ranking because there's a strong cultural taboo against whining there.
As anglosphere culture becomes less Anglo-Saxon, public whining is increasingly more normalized.
