Elevated temperatures expected tomorrow in the Bay Area (Tuesday, 9/23). Cooling your home with open windows? Great idea! If you have kids or pets around, just make sure: ✅Windows can’t open more than 4 inches ✅Furniture kids can climb on is kept away from windows ✅Kids and pets are supervised around open windows Remember, screens keep bugs out but don’t prevent falls.

A Heat Advisory from @NWSBayArea is in effect for San Francisco on Tuesday Sept 23 from 11 AM–7 PM. Temps in mid to upper 80’s are possible in parts of SF. Take steps to stay safe in the heat: sf.gov/heat •Drink water and take breaks from the heat •Open windows safely to prevent falls (use screens/guards, open from the top if possible, and always supervise children around open windows) •Use fans to circulate air •Check in with neighbors, especially older adults, people with disabilities, and those living alone. •If your home is uncomfortably hot, consider visiting an air-conditioned space to cool off, such as libraries, shopping malls, community centers, or swimming pools. @SF_emergency 911 dispatchers have a very stressful job and they do it selflessly and around the clock working long hours. As we increase our staffing I am thrilled to be able to offer a space that is calm and quiet where they can take breaks and regroup to serve our City.

Today marks the grand opening of DEM’s wellness room! DEM staff, including our 911 Dispatchers, Watch Center Specialists, and IT Operations work around the clock to keep San Francisco safe, making places to rest and recharge essential.

Earthquake! I felt that one. At first I wasn’t sure if it was the wind because we have some pretty good gusts blowing. An EQ is ALWAYS a good reminder to be prepared for ANY emergency.
