The number of people displaced "internally" (within their own countries) has risen every year for the past 7 years, and by almost 50% in the past 5 years. Of 75.9 million #IDPs at the end of 2023, almost 90% — 68.3 million — fled due to conflict and 7.7 million due to disasters.
