Launching ambitions. At constellation scale. 🚀 The next generation of connectivity from space is being built through constellations of telecommunications satellites in low Earth orbit. Deploying these systems requires launchers capable of placing large numbers of satellites into orbit efficiently and reliably. With its four boosters and high lift capacity to low Earth orbit, Ariane 64 is designed to support these large-scale deployments, enabling multiple satellites to be launched together in a single mission. Because today, launching a single satellite is not always enough. From Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, Arianespace helps these ambitious systems take shape in orbit. #LaunchingAmbitions

Many Earth observation missions launched by Arianespace operate in Sun-synchronous orbit. In 2025, Ariane 6 placed: 🛰 Sentinel-1D (Copernicus programme)
 🛰 CSO-3 for high-resolution defense observation
 🛰 MetOp-SG for next-generation weather monitoring. From Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, Arianespace regularly delivers satellites to SSO with the precision these missions require. @ArianeGroup @esa @CNES @EuropeSpacePort @DGA @Armee_de_lair @AirbusDefence @AirbusSpace @Thales_Alenia_S @eumetsat @ESA_transport @EU_Commission @CopernicusEU @defis_eu @ESA_EO @esaoperations #LaunchingAmbitions

Destination: Orbit Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) lies around 600–800 km above Earth. Satellites in this orbit pass over the same point on Earth at the same local solar time on every orbit. This constant lighting makes SSO ideal for Earth observation, allowing scientists to compare images over time and monitor our planet with precision. Maintaining this consistency requires extremely precise orbital injection, as even small errors can affect observations over time. 👇

Second mission. Same ambition. The @Amazonleo satellites for our next mission, VA268, have now arrived at Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, marking a new step in the deployment of the Amazon Leo constellation. In the coming weeks, Arianespace will begin the launch campaign, from satellite processing to integration on Ariane 6, preparing these payloads for their journey to low Earth orbit. The VA268 mission, designated LE-02 by Amazon, will fly on Ariane 6 in its four-booster configuration, a powerful setup particularly adapted to support the sustained deployment of large constellations. This mission is the second of 18 launches planned under our contract with Amazon, reflecting a long-term partnership built on performance, reliability and shared ambition to expand global connectivity from space. More updates soon from Kourou. #LaunchingAmbitions @ArianeGroup @esa @CNES @EuropeSpacePort

Deploying constellations, sequence by sequence Deploying a constellation requires more than launch performance alone. It requires the ability to manage complex separation sequences and accurately position groups of satellites once in orbit. With Ariane 64, Arianespace provides the performance and flexibility needed for these demanding missions. Its high lift capacity enables the launch of large batches of satellites in a single mission, while the long payload fairing offers the volume needed to accommodate multiple spacecraft. Once in orbit, Ariane 6’s upper stage, powered by the re-ignitable Vinci engine, performs precise maneuvers to position satellites. Combined with dedicated separation systems and mission design expertise, Arianespace teams can execute complex deployment sequences safely and efficiently. #LaunchingAmbitions

4,100 kg. Metop-SGA1 is, to date, the heaviest single satellite launched by Ariane 6. On August 12, 2025, during VA264, Arianespace successfully delivered MetOp-SGA1, EUMETSAT’s next-generation weather satellite into Sun-synchronous orbit from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. This second commercial flight of Ariane 6 once again demonstrated the launcher’s performance, precision and reliability in Ariane 62 configuration. By placing Metop-SGA1 into orbit, Arianespace supports a mission critical for weather forecasting, climate monitoring and environmental observation, while fulfilling its commitment to guarantee Europe’s autonomous access to space. Delivering performance. Enabling purpose. #LaunchingAmbitions @ArianeGroup @esa @CNES @EuropeSpacePort @eumetsat @EU_Commission @AirbusSpace @CopernicusEU

One year ago, Ariane 6 performed its first commercial mission. On March 6, 2025, flight VA263 successfully lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, placing CSO-3 into Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 800 km. This mission marked a major milestone: - Its first commercial launch - The completion of the CSO system Developed for the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) and CNES, for the benefit of the French Space Command, CSO-3 strengthens Europe’s space-based optical intelligence capabilities. Equipped with next-generation high-resolution instruments, the CSO system delivers critical Earth observation data for defense and security purposes, serving France and its European partners. (1/2)

Look back on Leo Europe 1. LE-01 marked our first mission with @Arianespace and the debut flight of Ariane 64 — delivering 32 Leo satellites in a single mission – and included a pre-launch campaign that spanned three continents. 200+ Leo satellites now in orbit, with many more launches to come. Space for Good. Observing Earth is not just about seeing our planet from above. It is about measuring change, anticipating risks, and protecting populations. In 2025, Ariane 6 launched MetOp-SGA1 for @eumetsat and Sentinel-1D for the @EU_Commission, two key missions reinforcing Europe’s capabilities in advanced meteorology, climate monitoring and crisis response.
