I've been tracking Brighton's data-driven model for years. Their recruitment strategy was a primary subject of my MSc thesis in 2023. Since then, Tony Bloom has directed key organizational changes. Seems to have reached a nexus point now. Here's my take from June 2025.

For those saying we played well tonight. We could still be playing now and not have scored. That isn’t luck when it happens next to every week. It’s either a lack of quality or poor coaching. Aston Villa also had 1 shot on target… and won 1-0. This happens too much too. #BHAFC
