China is aggressively challenging the American naval blockade. The People's Liberation Army Navy just deployed a heavily armed task force to the Gulf of Oman. Beijing explicitly stated they will not allow Washington to dictate their global energy security. Chinese destroyers are preparing to actively escort their own mega-tankers right to the edge of the US kill box. A massive, direct standoff between American and Chinese naval assets is developing just outside the Strait.

77–78% of Catholic Democrats support legal abortion in most/all cases, compared to 36–43% of Catholic Republicans. However, overall the figure is 59-63% US Catholics who support abortion. Everyone already knows the Catholic Church are NOT the leading vocal organization against abortion. They actively support politicians who are Catholic by sheer convenience Democrats who run on abortion. This stiffles any serious pro-life groups and voices within the church. What they are a leading voice on is trying to not offend the parishioners in pews from loosening up their arms to hit the donation baskets. They miss you over at Bluesky....

@TomFitton Are you suggesting that the Catholic Church has been silent on the issue of abortion?

Justification by faith alone is the doctrine by which the Church stands or falls, and it’s for this reason that Rome stands as fallen and must repent. To believe this is to affirm Classical Protestantism.

@Jijkles @Parodyjeffx Nope. Jesus has been exalted at the right hand of God. Christ rules from heaven. All authority in heaven and earth has been given to him

While I don't disagree in theory, in practical, it hasn't happened yet. Messiah Jesus will be king over all the earth when he indeed sits on David's earthly throne in the coming Messianic Kingdom. Until that time, he sits at the right hand of the Father, waiting til his enemies become his footstool. Meanwhile, most of those who now cry 'Christ is King' like to accompany it with pics of crusaders, harkening back to the time when the 'Church' was Christ's kingdom and she was the one to crush all her enemies. This interpretation of OT passages is neither biblical nor a fulfillment of Luke 1.

And now he has. The president told the press pool he did not think it was a depiction of him as Jesus but a depiction of him as a physician or doctor.

@megbasham Pulled it, but no repentance. No admission of guilt. He said he believed it represented him a a Red Cross doctor healing people and that anyone who thought it represented him as Jesus was buying into fake news Basically, we're the a-holes

Are you familiar with the term "Fifth Column"? It's a term dating from the Spanish Civil War and it basically refers to any organized group of people determined to undermine a nation and destroy it from within. In the past 100 years, the USA has had plenty of Fifth Columns. The KKK. The German/American Bund. Multiple Communist groups. But the term has always referred to some small, fringe minority. But not today. In 2026, the Fifth Column is the entire Democrat Party and its army of media, NGO operatives and useful idiots, as well as a smaller group of Loony Libertarians. Don't believe me? Who is actively rooting for the USA to lose to Iran?

This assumes a view of Sola Scriptura that the Protestant tradition does not affirm. To put it in a syllogism: 1) Scripture is authoritative because it is God-breathed, not because the Church declares it so. 2) The Church, as a historical and visible body, receives, preserves, and recognizes the canon through a real but ministerial authority under God. 3) Therefore, Sola Scriptura does not rely on tradition to form the canon in an authoritative sense. Rather, it affirms that the canon is given by God and recognized through the ordinary means of the Church’s life over time.
Tyler Lee Conway@TylerLeeConway

Sola Scripture is interesting because it relies heavily on tradition that formed the canon of Scripture. In other words, you needed the Church to tell you what texts were divinely inspired and what were not.
