After taking off at 10:54 a.m. PDT, NASA's quiet supersonic X-59 aircraft returned prematurely following a return-to-base call. The pilot and aircraft landed safely and successfully. More information is forthcoming.

The F-35 was supposed to be unkillable. That was the whole point. Lockheed Martin spent thirty years and four hundred billion dollars, the most expensive weapons programme in human history, building an aircraft that the enemy simply could not see. Not on radar. Not on infrared. Not on anything. The F-35 was not just a fighter jet. It was a theological statement. America’s way of saying: we have moved beyond the reach of your missiles, your sensors, and your prayers. Iran apparently didn’t get the memo. Somewhere over Iranian airspace on March 19, 2026, an IRST system, infrared search and track, the kind of sensor your grandmother could probably explain, looked up, found the F-35, and locked on. Not because Iranian engineers are geniuses. Because the F-35, it turns out, is extremely hot. All that engine. All that thrust. All that carefully sculpted stealth geometry, and the bloody thing glows like a kettle. The heat signature data Iran now holds is not just embarrassing. It is a gift that keeps giving. To Moscow. To Beijing. To every procurement ministry on the planet that has been quietly wondering whether to spend the money on systems designed to kill this aircraft. The answer, as of this week, is yes. And here is the bit that should really worry the Pentagon. You can patch software. You can redesign coatings. You cannot reprogramme a pilot’s brain. Every F-35 driver who takes off from here on knows, actually knows, that someone down there might be able to see them. That changes everything about how they fly. Caution replaces aggression. Hesitation replaces instinct. Four hundred billion dollars. And in the end, it was done in by a heat sensor. Tremendous. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

@escapefrommelos It was supposed to be untouchable. It doesn’t matter if it still landed. The “stealth” myth is shattered

@AUncreativeUser @tvnkth Lol we have almost 1300 f35s and one finally got shot, not even down. It’s a war plane, it’s gonna be flying in war. The edge is still plenty sharp.

@tvnkth this looks like an IR feed, which makes sense as to why it could be locked onto. Amerikkka lost their edge, because no way would they have put the plane into a position where this is possible

@KlutchNizar @BPP0410 @Mbakaza4L When gang violence isn’t counted as mass shootings, you get stats like this. Blacks still commit mass shootings at a higher rate, and mass shootings make up only about 2% of gun violence. Lol

@Lemommeringue These people just want to have a power fantasy that's it. They're the same people who like Yellowstone and the whole outlaw lawless land. Taking the law into your own hands f*** the government. Not realizing that's the type of world where you get families murdering each other.

ICE detained a dialysis patient the morning of her treatment. She died 36 hours later in a detention infirmary. They logged it as "natural causes." When policy kills, call it what it is.

@RalphC1401 @3A_Advocate @cturnbull1968 I’d say with the shoe bomber alone, they’ve failed. Along with the remedial shit that I’ve dealt with. Also plane terrorism in the USA is a dead horse.

Congratulations, Republicans, this is on you. Democrats wanted a standalone bill to fund TSA but Republicans would rather see 5 year old immigrant children punched in the face by masked ICE agents.

Here is your 6AM Departures Hall check-in! We are seeing very long lines for TSA screening and airline bag check. We encourage you to get here 2.5 hours before your domestic flight, 3 for international.
