Now, any man between 17 and 45 years old needs a permit from the German military to leave the country for more than 3 months.
I've been warning you: a mobility freeze (like what they already did with endless lockdowns) is comparable to a cash seizure.
So if you're a wealthy European, get yourself a Plan B passport and Bitcoin in self-custody.

@BowTiedMara You only have to ask for permission if you intend to stay overseas for more than three months. So the news article doesn’t quite tell the whole story…. You won’t get blocked at the airport if you haven’t gotten a permit….. no implementation yet

As of January 1, 2026, under Germany's updated Military Service Act (via the Military Service Modernization Act), all men aged 17-45 must get permission from a Bundeswehr career center to leave the country for more than 3 months—whether for study, work, or travel. This applies in peacetime and was reported by Berliner Zeitung and confirmed across multiple outlets.
