@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks Equally important to showing how marriage is a legal and civil affair is the fact that ending the legal bond of marriage is never a religious matter (annulments don't end the legal bond of marriage).

Can an educated person explain to me how a Gay marriage directly affects your Straight marriage? ( negatively) WITHOUT mentioning religion

@Eventzon @fiercepatricks I am not a priest. In an emergency, i can validate baptize ex Opere Operato. It doesn't change a thing about what the sacrament is. That goes to show, that an Elvis impersonator does not change what it is ontologically. Its illicit but doesnt change it at all.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks Marriages in ancient Rome were civil affairs. When clerics memorialize marriages, they are acting as agents of the state. When an Elvis impersonator memorializes a marriage, that definitely is not a religious event.

@MrFlickRocks @fiercepatricks If its a religious act, even atheists enact such things, despite denying the same. So a civil union is the secular simulation of religious institution of marriage aside of which, no secular benefit is taken from you. why is that a problem that a religious distinction exist?

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks You must be a slow learner, because marriage has never been just a religious act, it is a secular act as well. I'm a clear minded scientist who relies on common sense and evidence-based reasoning. "Civil Union" is a meaningless term used to declare secular marriages as invalid.

@Azriel_The_One @Sbeveunmo @fiercepatricks Which religion defines marriage? They differ in monogamy vs polygamy, divorce, and whether it is a sacrament or a rite of passage. The Romans (pre Christianity example) viewed it as a legal contract with nothing religious about it

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks The entire issue is, you can't seem to comprehend basic sentences. The OP asked a very simple question. And you couldn't even come close to answering it.

@EdwardFrancisJ4 @fiercepatricks Its not a violation because 1A. Its why Muslims religiously have 4 wives and are not arrested for polygyny even if in the eyes, only one wife is legally recognized

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks And I have no objection to civil unions for all. I'm saying that legal recognition of marriage violates equal protection unless it applies to everyone equally. I'd prefer to have civil unions for all, and no legal recognition of marriage. But if we are going to have (MORE)

@aretku @fiercepatricks As are you. Marriage does not change ontologically because a change of location. It stays what it is. Learn metaphysics, jackass!

@_JassyyLove @fiercepatricks Its a civil union and therefore not marriage. If it is not marriage, then the direct impact does not exist because it does not transgress a religious act.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks Category error? Incorrect. Marriage is a civil function, not a religious function. Therefore there is no issue with excluding religious objections from the question about a civil matter.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks It’s a matter of public policy because gay marriage was only federally legalized in the USA 11 years ago and some people are still calling for it to be removed and for being queer to be re-criminalized.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks The baker was engaged in providing a public service, not a religious service. The baker argued on the basis of the 1st Amendment free speech clause, not the religion clause. So religion was not at play in the decision.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks Where your faith is a matter of public policy? You replied to a tweet, asking for someone educated to explain without using religion, how gay marriage negatively impact straight marriage, which is in fact a matter of public policy.

@Azriel_The_One @fiercepatricks So at the end of the day, gay marriage has literally no negative impact on straight marriage or even society on a hole you can easily Google that and prove that yourself. I wasn’t gonna be mean but you bigots are such assholes. Go to fucking therapy.
