Top shortstop prospect Colt Emerson’s eight-year, $95 million contract extension with the Seattle Mariners will be done this afternoon, sources tell ESPN. Emerson will remain at Triple-A for now but is clearly a big part of Seattle’s future. First with the news: @ByRobertMurray.

@cmikesspinmove @JacsonBevens Charb had a dozen TD’s on the back of his work it felt like. I’m sure it isn’t that black and white but just felt like they didn’t trust him in the red area until they were forced to.

@Cyoplasm A team can't opt out of an RFA tender ahead of time. The way a player is non tendered is if they are not tendered by the start of the new league year.

The second wave of this free agent market is pretty bad.
Outside of RBs, guys I don't mind in this wave:
-Bradley Chubb -- Can replace what Mafe did on a discount and won't count against comp picks
-Kevin Byard or Taylor Rapp-- A little older, but think both really well in Mike's defense. Won't be too expensive.
--Elgton Jenkins -- Could he play RG?
