@SparkingFIRENC Have you tried budgeting a good chunk of unexpected expenses each month.. that way when there’s none it feels like a win and when they do come up it feels like part of the plan?

So far this week we have spent $120 that we weren’t expecting
-$30 because our cat ate our leftover meatloaf so we had to go out for lunch 😅
-$35 bill
-$55 in stuff we were asked to pick up for a party
Anyone who knows me knows that unexpected expenses like this make me physically tense up
Sure, we make plenty to be able to afford it, but my scarcity mindset comes out anytime an unexpected expense comes up
I’m doing my best to remember to live in the moment and not let things get to me
Slowly and surely I am in fact getting better at spending money “unintentionally” when needed

@Invested_In_You All the “tax loopholes” people talk about are just in the tax code, but no one reads or understands it. All the “secrets the wealthy don’t want you to know” aren’t secrets. It’s storytelling marketing.
Not hating on this, it’s good info. Just highlighting what you said 2nd.

Low income years, early retirement, career transitions.
The window is real.
Most people don't know to look for it.

@Invested_In_You Valuable information Cam. All the more reason for people to explore their options by consult with financial or tax professional.

@SparkingFIRENC True that! Having optionality fixes a lot of stress

@FranWalsh73 A guaranteed after tax return of 7% is hard to beat!

@TheMattViera I know long term teachers making around that much. There’s definitely a pretty low ceiling but $100k is fairly common

That's a wrap, thanks for reading!

There's a 0% federal capital gains tax rate. It's not a loophole. It's sitting in the tax code, available to millions of people every single year. Most Americans have no idea it exists. Here's how it works:
