@TheBrilliantBu1 I’ve felt this exact way for the last 12 months
I just don’t really want to start over lol
English

@InvestingAddict @MarketPalmer_ How nice are their cars and watches though?
English

@MarketPalmer_ I work with doctors. They either are financial guys or don’t have a clue about money.
English

@MarketPalmer_ None of those years of schooling had a single personal finance class?
English

I like that!
It is funny because a lot of people don't realize how hard it is for people like us to spend haha
You'll probably laugh, but one of the reasons I love X monetization is because it is "extra money" I can feel 100% guilt free on spending and thankfully it is actually enough to cover most my "wants" since I am a natural minimalist
English

@SparkingFIRENC Yes, its eased the stress of spending massively.
If i don't use it all one month, I roll it to the next month into the same spending bucket (not a savings bucket), so it forces me to make an effort to spend it and enjoy it.
English

So far this week we have spent $120 that we weren’t expecting
-$30 because our cat ate our leftover meatloaf so we had to go out for lunch 😅
-$35 bill
-$55 in stuff we were asked to pick up for a party
Anyone who knows me knows that unexpected expenses like this make me physically tense up
Sure, we make plenty to be able to afford it, but my scarcity mindset comes out anytime an unexpected expense comes up
I’m doing my best to remember to live in the moment and not let things get to me
Slowly and surely I am in fact getting better at spending money “unintentionally” when needed
English

@Strachota73 Has that helped a lot?
I could see how it would but I think the added uncertainty would make it hard for me cause I couldn’t track it lol
These unexpected expenses really get to me when I can’t track them lol
English

@SparkingFIRENC I'm right there with you. It is the reason my wife & i have separate accounts. I need to track everything & she spends as needed w/o tracking.
I've started budgeting guilt free spending into my budget each month & it is helping me with spending. Baby steps.
English

@DMC4277 I'd take the 24 hours and do it starting next week lol
I would want the option for a couple additional weeks of unpaid time off though
In fact, they could get rid of all PTO if I could get 10-12 weeks of unpaid time off
English

@SparkingFIRENC Assume same job, your choice of 24-36 hrs per week, same health care benefits, same 401k match, pay and PTO is reduced by % of full time, if you work more than scheduled you get paid for those hrs at the same hourly rate.

@NieceMotorsport whoever buys that door will flip it anyway right?

What is the average SS payment now?
Each of my grand parents get between $2k-3k per month
A couple living on $4k per month has a great life (especially if they have a paid off house). Add in the investments for luxuries
A single person would have it harder... but again, the average person can easily build a decent investment portfolio just by investing 5-10% of their income for 20 years
English

Do you think the average American will ever be able to retire comfortably without having done something outside of the traditional system?
Social security is underfunded. Pensions barely exist anymore. The cost of healthcare alone in retirement is enough to wipe most people out.
I genuinely don’t think the math works anymore. Tell me I’m wrong.
English

@marc02200 Which part? That it is enough or that it will exist?
English

Yes I do, medicare and SS will still exist and they are enough to sustain most people in most areas of the US on their own
The average American makes enough to contribute 5-10% to investments many just choose not to. Add in matches for those who are eligible and you have
a solid nest egg after a few decades on top of that social security
English

@TinyToothDDS Nice! Yeah I had never heard of the school until a few years ago when I moved to the triad haha
Really nice school though
English

@SparkingFIRENC I’m from the area. Excited for the exposure the University is receiving.
English

@JuanRodrig07 I will never use $HOOD but it is hard not to be bullish on it
English

Monaco Freedom@MonacoFreedom
