@StrmchsrHunterF They could have started with a low resolution source image for some reason and used AI to increase the resolution, rather than generating the whole thing with AI. Even simpler algorithms you can run on your own PC will produce results like this.

Please, everyone in the weather industry, stop using maps like this. Stop using ai-generating graphics. It's destroying your credibility when we can clearly see how illegible these graphics are. Especially the National Weather Service. How can your local CWA trust your graphics when they zoom in on what they think is their area and can't even read the map because it's poor ai generation? How hard is it to screenshot GR? How hard is it to make a graphic with royalty free images? How hard is it to take the time to proof-read? I've seen enough offices share things like this, and they deserve the backlash. This is in poor taste. Do better, this is a waste of time.

Somehow it was learning how many people are fulltime employed to maintain the Golden Gate Bridge that flipped something inside of me in my understanding of the entropic force civilization has to constantly fight against. Before that moment I thought — I had not applied real conscious thought — you simply build a building or anything really and then you just … have it. After that I understood everything is constantly at the brink of being lost.
