Bhoopdev Shah is the “Mahamantri” of a party with a two-thirds majority. He says his party believes in a liberal economy, then claims their ideas are close to socialism and even that the government will run some industries. Worse, he doesn’t understand what “ideology” means.

I thought 2/3 maj. gov will first categorize priorities,identify problems and start solving them based on the severity and complexity..
step by step without rush but with the aim of sustainability..
Now I see neither they’ve identified the problem nor the sustainable solution..

@Raj50689Sanjeeb @DhakalSaurav The road was built with technical and financial assistance from Japan, so those design were already discussed but went through cost-based compromise. As far as I know, once the dam is completed, the road will be realigned to a higher elevation…

@Rodivys @DhakalSaurav Well then, full permanent reconstruction with elevated bridges seems to be the only solution then. Not sure how high the dam is going to be. Any idea?

Look at this massive elevated viaduct — safe, permanent, and built above the flood level.
Every year we waste billions (Rs 9.66 billion just for the last flood damage) on temporary diversions that get washed away again and again. Enough!
Build proper long-span elevated bridges + strong retaining walls. One-time smart investment = No more repeated repairs, no more months of road closure, safer lives, and saved public money.
Development is not just building roads - it’s building them right.

@jsauhard @shrua_sharma I’m not sure which Nepal you’re talking about. Roughly 40% of Nepalis live along the Nepal-India border and rely on Indian markets for daily essentials because they’re cheaper.
You don’t see wealthy people roaming in the gullies of Jogbani or Rupaidiha.

@Rodivys @shrua_sharma Poor people don’t go to india to buy groceries. They borrow from the nearest kirana store. Do u think a daily wage labor has time to go to India daily to buy groceries? Does he have daily cash flow? If u r talking about carriers, they will benefit on the long run.
