@SLCPaladin Texas counties have weak power compared to most states. Most don't have zoning laws so land development occurs virtually unfettered. But you could also end up with an industrial yard next to your residential property. So the key is being selective on where to buy property

The world today seems to be in commotion. There are wars and rumors of wars. The economies of whole continents seem to be faltering. Prophesied wickedness seems to be accelerating as the Savior’s return draws nearer. Yet despite turmoil and difficulty, faithful Latter-day Saints in hardship across the world have flooded heaven with prayers. In public, and in private, they are petitioning the Lord for help, for comfort, for direction, and personal peace for those they love. Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, lives, knows us, watches over us, and cares for us. As we pray continually, no matter the circumstances of life, the Lord will offer us His peace and abiding support. Consistent prayer during joyous times and also during seasons of distress and grief will surely be rewarded according to His will and perfect timing. #GeneralConference Artwork: “Angels Among Us” by Annie Henrie Nader

Take it another step Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18; Moroni 8:16) If Christ is perfect love, then fear exists when we are operating without Him and relying on our own devices As our charity grows: 👉 Fear dissolves 👉 Identity anchors 👉 Agency returns 👉 Love stabilizes 👉 We begin to look outward rather than inward Charity brings compassion. Compassion brings mercy. Mercy brings relief. In essence, our charity becomes another’s relief (which paradoxically brings relief to us). Then the pathway forward reveals itself and enduring to the end becomes "becoming" through charity

@sister_slay I could easily fill a multi-episode podcast on tithes and offerings. The blessings, the miracles, the change of heart, the change of disposition and nature Truly astounding‼️

For 6 months I wasn’t paying tithing because I felt like we weren’t making ends meet. Then, after hearing someone bear their testimony about it in Relief Society, I decided to give it another try. After just two tithing offerings, demand for my business picked up out of nowhere. It’s so overwhelming. I’ve had to raise my prices.
stacker@stackerco

I don’t see how a story about selling your car just to pay tithing can be framed as anything but troubling.

@jaredadairbell @_cbish @Everyday_Powers I did and no where in there did an LDS person claim that the holocaust was sanctioned, that’s just crazy talk. Dr White is 1. Not a doctor and 2. Not LDS and is actively trying to confuse the audience by twisting the words of the person he is interviewing

I just watched a debate between Jeff Durbin and Dr James White against Kwaku. Kwaku gave the best debate performance I’ve ever seen from an LDS position. He not only defends, but goes on the offense. Durbin and White crash out so hard, it was hard not to laugh. Huge Kwaku W.

@_cbish @Everyday_Powers @jaredadairbell I’m confused, I didn’t hear anyone say the holocaust was sanctioned. I heard the question insinuating that but no answer that did. Maybe you misunderstood?

If I understand their view: Without consent, God creates man, knowing which of his creations will go to hell. God then controls those creations so that they can't avoid going to hell. God then punishes them eternally for the decisions he forced then and created them to do? Do I have that right?

That's good, tho I suspect many will take home that message from your post. Winging it is very attractive because it requires much less work, and a lot off people like to think they are so gifted/talented they can pull of a great lesson with minimal prep effort (and some can, but nearly as many as think they can)

Dear Teachers, Here's the secret to a 25 minute class Don't spend hours preparing the lesson—Spend hours preparing yourself to receive revelation to facilitate the lesson You will always know what to do at any given moment because you are prepared—not the lesson was prepared

@_cbish I say study the topic extensively before preparing the lesson and then just follow the spirit - the spirit isn’t likely to out something in your mind if you didn’t learn it before.

@_cbish @TresClare I disagree. Do spend hours preparing (which includes narrowing the lesson down to two core principles) then let the Spirit take you in whatever direction it goes.

@_cbish I have sat in too many classes, bored stiff, where the teacher did exactly that, and the lack of preparation showed. Much better it is to perpare AND seek divine help.
